New General NBA Board Moderator

Post#1 » by Howard Mass » Wed Oct 28, 2015 4:48 pm

General NBA Board Posters,

I would like to announce the addition of Thorn to our General NBA Board Moderator Team.

Thorn is currently a Moderator on our New York Knicks Forum and has experience prior to his time on RealGM as a Moderator.

He is part of changes that are coming to the forum including some policy changes that will loosen the rules on Derailing GIF's, IBTL Posts and some other things while tightening the rules on Users who commit more serious offenses.

These changes will announced within the next week or so.

For now though, please join me in welcoming Thorn to The General NBA Board Moderator Team.

Wait, did you just say that items that derail a thread are going to not be as frowned upon? What the hell is a more serious problem then that on a discussion forum?(besides the obvious)

Unless I'm not reading that correctly.

My good friend HeatWillRise was banned from the general board completely for posting "IBTL". It's my understanding based on what Howard is saying is that they're going to loosen up on minor things like that and instead crack down on people who commit more serious offenses like actual trolling or baiting.

Great change in my book. I might also add that our good friend HeatWillRise is totally capable of committing more serious offenses so global mods should continually monitor his activities and keep him at bay. :)

However, we love him on the Heat board. Lovely guy.

Thanks Howard, thanks all.

I look forward to getting to know everyone and helping out on this forum it is one of hte most active and I have seen a lot of quality basketball discussion here. I hope to add a little something to that and learn a bit from the people we have contributing to the board on a high level.

I second this statement. My own personal feeling is that things here have become "over-officiated" of late. Can't have the inmates running the asylum, per se, but I think too much rigidity is a bit stifling.

Good to see things loosening up a bit, it appears.

Forreal the GB used to be hilarious before the And 1s made it insufferable and the crackdown removed the fun. I'm ready for the return of the father time threads.

First of all, congrats Thorn.

This is not the place to complain about other boards.
