A tall small forward who can get his shot off with a few seconds on the clock never hurts..... and a quick power forward who can shoot from range doesn't hurt either.

I like what Morris has brought to the team so far.

Morris was also very fan friendly at the home opener. KCP was like "i'll be back" to sign autographs, but when he came back, he went straight to the court and straight back to the lockeroom. Morris said the same thing, but he came out and talked to the fans and took pictures and signed autographs for every fan there. Was pretty cool in my opinion.

As usual:

Beefed up scouting dept & SVG make a good call.

Starting to become routine - which is a 180 from the last 5 years of Joe.

It's early but so far so good

Morris knows his spot on the floor and he's almost automatic from there. If he keeps this up, his contract is going to be a steal!

Small sample size, but 19.3 pts 7.7 rebs 2.3 stls on 47.7% fg 57.1% 3pt and 66.7% ft in 38 mpg in 3 straight wins is damn impressive, especially when we didn't give up anything for him. .

The money he is making is what you'd normally pay a 7th man or 8th man... its what borderline rotation players make... Just him being our 4th or 5th best starter already would make his contract a steal... He's playing like he doesn't want to lose that starting job to rookie any time soon... Wouldn't be surprised to see him start all 82 for us if he remains healthy the way he is out there playing.

To be honest I think he is doing what he did last yr but with more touches and mins. It also doesn't hurt that SVG gives him space and that they put Morris in his sweet spots so he can produce. In Phx he would sit at the top of the key most of the game and if he missed a shot or 2 he was yanked.

Marcus is currently the 2nd leading post scorer in the league with 18 pts in the post, and 6th in post FG% at 64% (7-11).

By comparison Monroe was 44% FG in the post last year. Big difference in sample sizes but Morris is looking every bit as capable of a post option, if not better, and at 1/3 of the cost.

Stan's the man. Morris at 5m/yr for 4 yrs is beginning to look like the Chauncey MLE deal, but that was when the cap was nothing. 5m/yr in the new cap is going to be like a vet minimum deal, and if he keeps producing like this (19 ppg on 47% FG) on a minimum type contract, Stan will deserve EOY every year for the next 4 yrs lol.

With the way Morris is playing I'm getting more and more intrigued with the idea of trading for his brother. I've never really watched the Morris twins much before this season but now that I've seen Marcus I can see why SVG wanted him. He is a multi skilled player who can defend, rebound, shoot 3's, and has an extremely well polished midranged and high post game. I think Markieff can bring more of the same.

Ilyasova/Dinwiddie/1st rounder for Markieff?

If you mean he didn't beat the **** out of your wife and you, then yeah, he's done ok.

Kieff is also behaving like an angel in Phoenix. They must have gotten a warning from their agent saying "shut up and play or you'll be out of the league fast"

Morris bro's got too much power in the Suns locker room (Kieff was the longest-tenured Sun last year) and them together, plus the iso-based offense of the Suns, gave them a little too much empowerment. And that went really bad.

Marcus has skills, but a bad temper. It must be kept at check all times.

They need to be separated to get the best out each of them. They seem to feed of each others stupidity when they're together. I think the split will be good for both detroit and phx. Marcus is doing all the right things so far

Yeah I think the separation of the brothers is key

I like the synergy of the morris/ersan/dre front line. Ersan provides streaky yet dangerous three point shooting , morris can shoot but is also a talented iso player, and drummond is the relentless roller and rebounder dominating the paint on both ends. If they stay healthy i expect DET to be near the top of the league in rebounding , offensive specifically. I am worried about the back up pg position but thats it. Stanley also looks good as a rotation guy.
