Re: Super Lintendo: The Jeremy Lin Thread
The fact that Lin still managed 17 points shows how much he has improved as a player. The Jeremy of Linsanity would not have been nearly as effective. He's a legit 3 point threat which gives him a chance to drive more.

Re: Super Lintendo: The Jeremy Lin Thread
Lin just can't seem to break through on penetration against the Hawks. He's at least not losing the ball and making the right passes, but he's not being enough of an offensive threat to open it up for himself/others. I hope the team tries to set him up more for spot ups when he's at the 2 after halftime, but then maybe they should look to get Batum/Lamb those spot ups instead.

Re: Super Lintendo: The Jeremy Lin Thread
When Lin's 3 is off, he refuses to shoot anymore even he is open.
All the opponent to do is to stop his penetration.
It makes his game predictable.

Except his 3 wasn't off tonight. He only took 1 three before the 4th quarter and ended up 2/4 from three.

Re: Super Lintendo: The Jeremy Lin Thread
too tentative, dont know what to do with the ball...
he is too choosy with his shots too, if it is not wide open, he would not take it... he almost wanted to pass the second three he made.. i was like WTH...
he was tentative the last game too... don't know what's going on with him...

Re: Super Lintendo: The Jeremy Lin Thread
Lin's stats doesn't reflect how much he struggled this game to create on offense. He had a bad game but on the bright side coach Clifford still put him in down the stretch, when was the last time we saw that?

that's what you do with Lin. keep him from getting to the rim and force him to give up the ball. HE can't open up the floor. he's knocking down threes. it's the opposing team is daring the others to beat him. the reason he got going in the 4th is that he was playing with the starters and the defense can't key in on him.
would you rather have Lin beat you or Hawes, Zeller, Kaminsky. They're the ones setting the picks or trying to open up the middle.
Atlanta did a good job with substitutions such that there were always a starter or two in the lineup. I would like to see early substitutions so the transition from starters to reserves doesn't end up with these stretches of mis-opportunities.

Collins had a funny comment about Lin tonight, said he was as brave as a cat burglar.

The thing is, that hesitance and playing scared gets him into more trouble than if he had just let it go.

There is no chemistry between Lin and the bigs in PnR situation.
Their screens are always useless.

He meant it as a compliment. It was when Lin dove on the floor for the loose ball and almost got decapitated. Was basically saying Lin had huge balls for making that play.

it's not about chemistry, it's about talent. there's little reason to guard the big setting the pick. none of them roll to the rim hard and play above the rim. also none of the bigs can pop and reliably hit 3's. it's much better to stop the drive which leads to a breakdown in d.

Re: Super Lintendo: The Jeremy Lin Thread
Lin's 3rd quarter was just BAD, so many unforced TOs. Sure he got trapped and all that, but man he drove into the trap zones SO OBLIVIOUSLY. I swear to god, HE NEEDS TO BE AGGRESSIVE AND SHOOT!! When he's with the 2nd unit he needs to be the man and go Kemba mode. Get a weakass screen and just go kamikaze at the bucket and see if the refs will give u some calls. If they do keep doing it until **** starts opening up, if they dont then adjust and let fly from outside. He played like an utter bitch and somehow got 13 points, imagine if he played like a **** man he'd easily have 20+ points and maybe woulda swung the tide to victory. Even his wide open shots were all hesitant and his drives were just weak and easily blocked or stripped.
I mean, drive hard, get the **** knocked out of you for a no call, at least it was DOING something constructive, not the lose the ball while reversing pivoting from a weakass drive attempted pass crap we saw.

Lin got confused and lost while switching the roles between PG and SG.

Not a good game for Lin...it did seem like the Hawks press coverage threw him off.

What were the reporters saying?
Easy guys; one game. Everyone has bad games and Lin's still learning how to play with this team, what type of picks are set, who moves where, etc. He's not a superstar who can have a great game no matter what else is going on on the court. But he'll settle down next game and learn his teammates tendencies over the next 15 games or so.
