Now that our offense runs through Thaddeus/Brook. Joe suddenly looks a huge net negative as well. I don't think it's a coincidence.

i dont see the comparison at all. joe also isnt "suddenly" looking like a negative. he was pretty bad last year both before and after thad.

joe is old. and his ability to finsish in the 5-8 foot range is gone. he has clearly lost a step or two. age catches up with everyone.

Gay was in his prime, different situation.

Larkin comes down, pounds the air out of the **** ing ball and then jacks up a brick

he kinda of does... so many shots of him with his head in his hands or sighing

Its not the effort that's the issue. Its LOW IQ basketball from our PGs that is killing this team

That was a bang bang play. Could have went either way. Cant fault the guy for being aggressive. That was only his 2nd TO to his 9 TOs.

I said it for months that the big issue is at SG. We need a quick trigger 3pt shooter. If we had one we could be 2-1 right now. I would like to go after Kevin Martin

we have 2 of them. bogs and ellington.

we need alot more then just one thing... we need a real starting point gaurd, not a carousel of backups. we need defensive players 1 thorugh 5. we need guys who can shoot from range. we need size at PF. we need depth at Wing/F/C

this team top to bottom is awful. we have brook and then a bunch of guys better suited to be 6th/7th men

Nets have to start moving the ball. All 5 players on the floor need to make an effort to get the ball moving to create holes in the defense. This is common sense basketball and the best option for a team that has so few options.

we do need better ball movment. but that wont solve our offensive issues. teams dont need to scramble or close out on anyone. we arent going to get good shots because outside of brook teams dont need to respect anyone on our team.

Joe actually started hitting shots late but hell. He needs to start doing more for this team than just looking for his own shot. He needs to stop thinking ISO at 34 years old and start thinking share the ball. He draws so much attention that he could easily rack 5apg if he thought about passing instead of bricking shots.

there really arent many other options. passing out of the double team leads to wide open bricks on long 2 pointers. pcik and rollw ith him and brook is stymied because if joe is running the pick and roll it takes away the only 3 point shooter in the lineup most of the time, wings jsut collapse and dont allow brook to catch it.

Fouls kind of took Brook out of the game, he had a double double though. Ellington finally woke up but man the 3 pt shooting overall is horrific. I don't know what Hollins is going to do.

nothing. thats what i was getting at earlier in the season, people saying losing deron isnt worth 10+ losses. its not about deron, its about having another 3 point shooter on the floor. we have no shooters. thats an issue. it makes us soooo easy to defend.

its also why i wanted to let thad walk. people were under this impression thad was the difference between being good and bad. he isnt. thats no fault of his... but we just dont have enough talent and were going to be bad with or without him. people said without thad no one would come play for this team... but with thad this isnt a team anyone will want to join either

Again, the one thing that I have seen in all 3 of these games is guys playing hard. That's our one saving grace. But we cannot shoot and we cannot pass at a level that is acceptable for a professional team.

yup, this team is a 100 times easier to watch then last years team

The results from the last 3 games have been pretty much what Nets fans should have anticipated. However, the grit and grind from this team is refreshingly encouraging.

Bogs is a SF. He is too slow to stay with an NBA caliber SG.

Ellington is a bench player and that is all.

I do like the effort and I expected this early season start (although we could've beaten the Bulls but we were horrible in the 3rd) but I think as the schedule lightens up I think we will pick up some wins.

bojan and thomas robinson have somewhat of a future with this team if they can play like they did.

karasev is probably gone and cant even beat out joe johnson who looks really slow and old and has no lift anymore. markel is only on the team because he plays defense and may be gone if we find a better sg, his jumper is still a disaster as well as his decision making. ellington should be 3rd string and only useful if he can hit 3 pointers or jumper. larkin is a backup at best due to being an undersized pg. i like his speed and aggressiveness despite limitations.

95% of our roster is bench players. im not sure that outside of lopez we have another guy who should be a starter as joe and thad are probably better off as 6th men.

jack, larkin, sloan are all 100% not starters
ellington and brown are 100% not starters
Karasev, Robinson, Bargani are 100% no starters
Bogs, Joe, and then shouldnt be starting

you said we need a quick trigger 3 point shooter. we have those. those guys just arent good at anything but shooting. if you are saying we need more NBA starter calibur players, then yes... that is exactly the problem. as right now we dont have 1 backcourt player who has any business starting on a team that isnt looking to tank hard

If Bojan played every night like he did against Memphis he'd definitely qualify as a starter. His problem is consistency. But we've seen enough to know skillwise/talent wise he could be a legit starter.
