Week 8: Jets @ Raiders | It's Today | 4PM

Post#1 » by zilby » Sun Nov 1, 2015 4:59 pm

Making this very last-minute from my phone, so no graphics for now.

QB: Ryan Fitzpatrick vs. Derek Carr
RB: Chris Ivory vs. Latavius Murray
WR: Brandon Marshall vs. Amari Cooper

Raiders have a surprisingly good offense this year, to go along with a defense that has some decent veteran pieces. Key will be the defense today, and the offense should be able to put up some points. Either way, this is probably the most excitIng time for a Raiders fan to see their team not be absolutely putrid on the football field.

Been waiting on this one. Got a few friends over the house for a nice Sunday meal, plus I have the enjoyment of my wife being a Raiders fan, so someone is gonna take a guaranteed L today.

Spoiler:
hope it's her.

The defense is just embarrassing... it is so easy for the Raiders, Perimeter runs, Shorts passes...

We lack Speed all over the place...

Yeah, defense is pathetic. Geno's not helping either with his patented 22 Jets on the field vision.

In a game where our offense obviously is gonna struggle facing a good run D, with a new Center and of all things Geno at QB a Team build like our just has to get more from the defense. So far the D just has not been up to the Task and it tells you a lot about... I'm just sick of seeing the same old Problems every year - no edge rushers, slow edge rushers and questionable safety Play (even though with Pryor that has been good this season)...

This game so far has nothing to do with Geno, the D let us down so far - plain and simple...

Thank god Pittsburgh lost today and the rest of the AFC outside of the top Teams is trash...

If true, this is good, Geno is garbage. Although this is hilarious being a tweet during hafltime.

I was just talking to my wife, who btw is loving this game about our defense. Now while our defense has looked like trash, no team is winning a game if their offense is basically 3 and out and field goals.

This league is about offense (the kind with the ball in the air), defense is wonderful, definitely need to make Carr uncomfortable, but you gotta put up points.

And they just confirmed what I was thinking, the offense hasnt been on the field enough.

I guess it's the defense fault Geno was just now lost and got sacked.

Only Geno would take a 7 yard loss when he just had to toss it out of bounds.

I wonder if there are any quality options. This dude never learns. I think one player who's sorely missed if Pryor, we need to look into safeties or give the kid from preseason and activation call.

Welp, the good thing is the hardest part of the schedule is basically over. We have one of the easiest schedules the rest of the way.

I agree that you have to score in this league, you can't leave any defense on the field all day, you are asking for trouble even vs the worst teams in this league.. but our defense got owned from the very first possession. they were running the ball and their offensive line was downfield 4 yards before we could get a hand on anyone.. Revis and cromartie got owned. Hate to say it, it seems that when teams play us their receivers catch the ball and you don't even see our cornerbacks in the screen for 5 yards. the patriots exposed us defensively, don't run up the middle, we are a wall there, stretch it outside, our linebackers are not as fast as they used to be. It was a huge let down and tough to take as a fan who thought we were better than this. right now we are a very average team with an overrated defense.

not good...

yes it is mo.. teams don't fear our corners, and you can run on us if you stretch the play out, even with an average back you can gain yards.. we also don't get pressure unless we blitz... we have some issues, we are not a good team right now..
