This is also what I was thinking behind that attempt signing and of course the obvious lack of solid PF in our starting lineup. We are deliberately showing upcoming free agents that we are one superstar away from being a title contender. You can even assume that Durant might even consider Orlando as his other option comes free agency. But yeah, from now and until that time comes, I'm happy with what we have.

lets wait and see what AG/Harris forward combo can do...already the D is much better and that's been with Fournier...in a month or so AG will be caught up to speed and ready to play 30+ mpg

...why?

who would he have been on the court for?

WCS is versatile enough to play defense 3-5. He could've rotated in at any of those positions. With Durant and Westbrook taking it to us at will, he would've made things tougher than the softness we displayed.

I liked wcs going into the draft. However the questions remain about his personality and health issues. I dont know and no one knows. He could end up the next tyson chandler or the next larry sanders.

WCS was my guy in the draft (that we could actually draft), but I'm happy with Mario. He has a chance (eventually) of being that goto scorer we need.

Way to early to make that assessment imo. Give it some time, it'll shine through, it always does.

Skiles video session with the team is exactly what was needed on Saturday. 70 clips and of mistakes to learn from. If the players don't respond to this, we may have a problem but it's the real right risk.

I like the optimism. I just don't see who he replaces in the starting line up for that to happen.

I also think Oladipo has that in him to be that guy.

I've been thinking this, but didn't want to say it, but as a hypothetical exercise I like the idea of Mario at SG. That gives you size at 4 of 5 positions (PF excepting) and puts a legit shooter in the back court. That would mean Dipo the bench so it's not an easy decision. It's great having 6 legit guys, but somebody has to be on the bench. Clearly for now it's Mario.

I respect your view. It's not easy coming out and saying that.

I don't think Oladipo should ever be relegated to the bench. I think he's too valuable to do that to him. If we're gonna move him to the bench, we should just trade him instead of killing his stock by benching him.

BUT FIRST, I need to see what position Hezonja plays defense best at. If he can't adequately guard SGs or SFs as well as the other folks that we have, then he should be the one off the bench. I think all the optimists are hoping Hezonja ends up as a Superstar, but I see him as the one simply providing instant offense off the bench. I can't see him starting unless we trade one of Oladipo, Harris or Gordon.

you are making alot of assumptions, WCS is a future role player, just accept it already

I think if you put McGee back then, he would get those blocks just as easily as Russell did. Russell's athleticism was well ahead of the players of his time, and that's about it.

Our biggest mistake is starting Fournier. There is no legitimate reason for not either playing Gordon or Hezonja before him. None. I plan on making a thread of gifs detailing how god damn stupid, apprehensive, and uninspiring he plays. Dude is a **** scrub who has no place in the starting lineup. Gordon would eat him up for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and dessert. Skiles, I love what you've done, but this is the sole reason why we're losing games. Fournier > Gordon is a stupid mistake to be making.

Absolutely. We know Dipo can defend, Mario needs to prove it.

No the assumption was that Skiles and Dedmon were gonna solve our interior defense and that Hezonja is a future Superstar. heh. We shall see.
