I'm actually fine with Melo as a Plan B next summer, assuming the package is reasonable. We'd have to keep Porter for defensive purposes IMO, and I'm not doing a Beal S&T. But Oubre and picks? Maybe so. Long time to go until next summer, though.

Melo has a NTC clause, he would have to waive it first.

Though, if he does want out Phil won't hesitate to move him.

Lots of talk out there says Carmelo can't win.

Imagine the Wizards with Carmelo at PF instead of Humpries, Gooden, or Dudley.

Washington wins 55-60 games, easily.
Tre Johnson is the future of the Wizards.

This game felt like something from the Arenas era. Excellent production from our "big 3", not nearly enough from the supporting cast, and terrible defense.

Dear Joanna!

Please, tell pine to not use any (bulls/zards/pacers/heat/other) images of cheerleaders or we gonna end like this game.
Thank you!

So I watched the last 5 mins of the game again. The Knicks got a couple of favorable calls. With a few seconds left, they clearly didnt have possession of the ball when the time-out was called. In addition, his foot was out of bounds, if it was ruled that he had possession. That really did it for the Wiz. No way/little chance to come back from bad ref call and/or missed call with just a few seconds left.

If you recorded the game, check out the last few seconds again.

Not only did he not have possession, he was out of bounds twice..

I'd be okay with Melo as long as we're not trading Porter(and obviously Wall and Beal). But only if we strike out on Durant.

I wouldn't make a move for Carmelo, even as a backup plan. He is NOT a superstar -- not in terms of the kind of consistent, overall production that wins games. And he turns 32 next season.

Melo is not going to get better as he ages. His contract is also absolutely not worth it. I'd rather bank on Oubre becoming a 2 way player then trading half of the farm for Melo. Hopefully Ted doesn't allow such hypothetical madness.

Melo responds to Wiz F's overrated claim with 37

Saying he circled this game on his calendar, Carmelo Anthony had a point to prove to Washington's Jared Dudley that he is not the most overrated player in the NBA and did so by scoring 37 points.

Ohm Youngmisuk
ESPN Staff Writer

Carmelo Anthony said he definitely was aware of Jared Dudley's comment about Melo being overrated and that he had this night circled on his calendar. "I mean, it becomes competitive at that point," said Anthony, who had Dudley on him late at times before finishing with 37 points and 4-of-5 three-point shooting. "You just want to go out there and show what you are made of... It had nothing really to do with him but this was a game that I circled on my calendar. I'll see him three more times."

Let's not get too carried away with the Melo love though. Through 3 games he is shooting 41% from the field, 29.4% from 3.
