I like the synergy of the morris/ersan/dre front line. Ersan provides streaky yet dangerous three point shooting , morris can shoot but is also a talented iso player, and drummond is the relentless roller and rebounder dominating the paint on both ends. If they stay healthy i expect DET to be near the top of the league in rebounding , offensive specifically. I am worried about the back up pg position but thats it. Stanley also looks good as a rotation guy.

Agree with everything. Don't forget the backup PG spot will be getting a major upgrade in a few months with Jennings.

I always liked the Morris trade not only can he transition from the 3 to the 4 almost seamlessly but he also brings toughness.

How good can Marcus be?

People forget he was a lotto pick a few years ago, picked one spot before Kahwi and a few spots after Klay. It took them a few years to really blossom too.

I dont think its unrealistic for him to become a 16-17 ppg guy on good efficiency.

Morris will prove to be much better than the last few starting SFs.

I really disliked Caron Butler. Singler was among the worst starters at the SF position when he was starting. Tayshaun hadn't been a very good SF since '07'.

I hope Marcus has limited nights shooting the ball like he did in the opener (6 for 19). Pleasant surprise so far.

As long as he doesn't acquire an unruly attitude, or suffer any ASAD symptoms during the season... Pistons will have a valuable cog.

It creates enough space that it's nearly impossible to contest. Morris will simply have to learn shot selection as he's being given a lot more offensive freedom.

(against Atlanta) Confidence is a huge, and often underated part of the game and when a coach has confidence in you, and allows you to have bad nights or make mistakes it's huge for that player.

Marcus would routinely get pulled in Phoenix just for missing a few shots. In Detroit svg let's him Don his thing with complete trust and morris has responded beautifully. Morris's defense has also been exceptional.

He really does look like an all star the first three games and has shown everything from 3 point shooting, post mastery, crunch time buckets, tough defense and rebounding. Exceptional.

He even looked good in that 6-19 game against ATL. I remember looking at the boxscore in surprise that he shot that poorly. Probably because of all the other things he did well, including hitting some clutch shots. His shot selection has been great too. He plays well within the offense and has become a secondary go-to scorer at the end of the shot clock. It's awesome having a guy who can spot up and run traditional sets but then can also be a bail out guy knowing that he can get a quality shot in iso situations, not to mention his solid defense and rebounding for his position.

Kieff is also behaving like an angel in Phoenix. They must have gotten a warning from their agent saying "shut up and play or you'll be out of the league fast"

Marcus has skills, but a bad temper. It must be kept at check all times.

They need to be separated to get the best out each of them. They seem to feed of each others stupidity when they're together. I think the split will be good for both detroit and phx. Marcus is doing all the right things so far

The problem was that they were just knuckleheads together off the court. They also tended to look for one another more than others when they were on the court. So, breaking them up was essential for their progress. Unfortunately for the Suns, Kieff is playing very uninspired basketball right now. He is still ticked about the Suns trading Marcus. I expected Marcus to play well for you, but maybe not this well. I suppose those numbers will settle down some though but you will still be pleased.

Watched a few Det. games on league pass and my suspicions were confirmed: he is going to rise to the challenge. Extremely talented but maybe not a good fit for him in Phoenix.

The first big test is not for Marcus. It's for this board when he shoots 3-20 one game and gets a tech. Personally, I like him and I see him as our PF for the long term (that is unless he decides to team back up with his brother in a few years).
