Peyton Manning wasn't ready to pass the torch of greatest regular season QB to Aaron Rodgers just yet.
I kid I kid.

Re: Broncos Post Game
I think this game definitely exposed alot of our weaknesses. Yes it was only one bad game and our first loss, but I think our team is overrated. I just don't have a good feeling about this year, and I don't think we are on the same level as the Patriots or Broncos. Our defense is horrid, we have no TE, and no deep threat. Lacy is not his normal self for whatever reason, a couple injuries now in the secondary, and we couldn't get any pressure on the QB last night which is very worrisome. Not saying we don't have a chance to go all the way this year, but I will be shocked if we win it all at this point.

I thought it was hilarious that we punted with 7 minutes left. Yeah, we're probably not coming back with the way our offense was playing but what's the worst that happens if we don't make it on 4th down? They get the ball and score again? I turned it off for good at that point because I knew we weren't trying to win at that point.
I agree 100%. That was pathetic that we didn't go for it there. Why?? SO the score looks better? Give me a break. I know the chances were slim at that point, but you can't lay down with SEVEN minutes left!! Awful

I'm not too concerned about the offense yet because they don't have an established history of suckery. I have faith they'll figure it out. The defense though...

4-5 WRs sets..
I can't believe we've come down to this but we miss Andrew Quarless. He has a trust with Rodgers too and he's atleast a big target.
I agree. Problem is we have too many injuries now to use some of the sets we want, including 4-5 wide.
As for Quarless, his loss is underrated. Not having him has not only left us with only one TE, which limits our versatility for offensive sets, but the one TE we re left with is a plodder.
Like you say, Quarless is average, but he knows the system.
Most importantly, not having him just compounds the severity of our WR injuries.
Every team has injuries, not an excuse etc etc, but when theyre stacked in one position (WR/TE) theyre killers. Somebody ought to have explained this to Collinsworth last night as he struggled to understand how Rodgers stats were great, but the passing O ranks 27th in the league.

Exactly. The quick hitters weren't there, and we couldn't go deep because no one was getting separation AND their pass rush was god-like.
I might be more concerned with the defense, though. It was one crossing route after another. Peyton had the easiest game he's probably had in years.
Denver definitely has a more talented defense. As bad as Heyward was and the secondary in general, our pass rush was largely non-existent against Manning who is immobile and struggles vs pressure. On nearly all of those deep crossing routes, Manning had a clean pocket to pass from.
As for the Packers struggling passing game, it proves just how great and important Jordy is. He wasn't just some guy helped to be playing with a great QB. Losing him would be like Denver losing Demaryius Thomas for the season, Dallas losing Bryant, Giants losing Beckham, Bengals losing Green, etc. Jordy is a guy who had 1300, 1300, and 1500 yards in the last three healthy seasons while averaging 15ypc and 36 touchdowns.
That injury was a devastating blow to the offense and further exasperated by also having garbage at the tight end position. That said, we won't face a defense that good again unless it's in the Super Bowl against Denver. Man do they have a great defense if their key guys stay healthy.
