^^ AK was one of the best team defender in the league, even at 33. But yeah, they might have similar influence on our team: they make everybody around them better with all-around game, BBIQ, passing and professionalism

One big three 2 min till the end and couple of good defensive plays. He got in foul trouble early in the game.

^^ He was fighting for rebounds and defending with heart. But his confidence and passion were evident. I think he will be in foul trouble many times this year. Dieng is not able to defend opposite C and Nemanja's activity will lead to some questionable calls. But again his rebounding, confidence, versatility will be huge for us.

He seems like he's going to be the Rubio of PFs - does a lot of things that help the team win that may not show up on the stat sheet and will be underrated by the masses for it. I think once he figures out the NBA game (speed, physicality) and gets familiar with the refs, his foul trouble will go down.

Almost going unnoticed on Friday, Bjelica grabbed 8 boards in the win. Through two games, he's tied with KG for second on the team with 6.5 per game.

Needs to ease up on the fouls, but I've liked what I've seen so far from him.

Looking at these rebounds in the Denver game, I don't like that every single time he turns towards the opponent after catching the rebound. He should pivot the other way, it's something so fundamental, I don't get it.

I noticed in Chicago game that referees whistled many travelling calls, commentators from Fox Sports Minnesota did not like it also. Two of Wolves turnovers were Bjelica's travelling calls although I thought that first one was 3 sec violation from Deng, anyway that is too much. I never saw Bjelica in Europe making those mistakes and there you have to put ball on the floor before you make the first step. I thought that in NBA rules allow you to make the step before putting ball down but seems that I was wrong. Can someone explain this to me little bit more, did rules changed or I was wrong from the start?

Bjelica was never great shooter he is solid shooter but not great I don't like watching him shooting too many threes. I'm not surprised about his rebounding, he has that feeling for the where the ball will bounce. He seems to be solid in defense when 1 on 1 but have problems in pick&roll where he presses ball handler to much and leave him just enough space to split. Finally one notable performance from Belly but watching him in Europe I know he can do much better when he works out on some corrections in his game.

Nice game yesterday, I am rooting for this guy, he was Euroleague MVP for a reason.

Refs were really making that an emphasis and both teams struggled with it to an extent that Jim Peterson commented and said that it's obvious that it's gone too far because although it's good that the refs and the league are trying to get players to play better fundamental basketball the scales had tipped too far and JP went as far as to say "he hate to see this kind of refereeing"

Don't worry about the traveling calls.

Bjelica might not be a great shooter. He's a 35.1% career 3 pt shooter in Europe and he's shooting 35.3% here. He might not be great, but on this Wolves team that's pretty good. Bjelica has also had a season or 2 above 40% from 3 and one at almost 39% from 3...so it's likely he'll finish in between 35 and 40% from 3. So I like him shooting ~4/5 3's per game.

He does struggle a bit hedging on the P&R but he's consistently been a plus player, a solid rebounder, and put a lot of effort in on D. He works hard and has the right mindset...I'd rather have a player making mistakes because he's too active than he's not active enough. He has the right mentality on D to be a solid defensive player. And despite his weaknesses on Defense he's consistently been a plus player. And there's a reason he's getting as many minutes as he is this year...(29 minutes a game)

Hopefully as he grows more comfortable offensively against NBA players he'll figure out his spots and how to get to his spots and he'll start to shoot a little bit more. (Closer to 10 shots per game than 5.5)

when they played miami same thing happened. they called two travel violations on him when he went for the drive after faking 3 point shot. i went on to look at both actions again and he put the ball on the floor before doing anything on both occasions. the (same)ref who whistled was right there. i think this is somekind of rookie whistling and also they automatically think he cant do it cause he is tall. i dont know how else would i describe these bullsh*t calls. he rarely got this calls in europe and we know how harsher they are there on traveling.

His newly European Champion nickname "professor of big shots" revived in this game. Couple of very important 3pt scores. This times he was not in favor of stats.
Statistic just does not measure importance of the shot.

Can we please get back Tony Ronzone from the Mavs? Offer that guy a life-long contract or something for drafting Bjelica.

and we should also re-sign Robbie Hummel because 2 Bjelicas is better than one.

Except Bjelica is bigger. A better defender. Has a better handle. Is a better passer. Although I was always a Hummel fan. Dude is solid.

i know, i was just being wacky because there were rumors in the summer that we weren't that interested in signing bjelica because he was similar to robbie, and like you said, he's superior in a number of different ways.

I suspect that was all a negotiation tactic by Flip.

That said, I'd prefer Hummel sitting on the end of the bench than Payne but it is what it is.

Payne is averaging .187 WS/48 - 3rd best player on the team.
I'm not saying it's time for a 4 year 50 million dollar extension, but maybe 42-45 mil.

Teague comes away with punching Belli in the face without getting a suspension. That's just ridiculous, even that they did not call it in the first place.
