Nobody else has noticed LaMarcus Aldridge is fat now? It's not Oliver Miller out of control, but he's very noticeably heavier than I've ever seen him. Seems like an odd time in his career to let himself go.

Professional basketball players getting out of shape is kind of a big deal. Especially a guy that just signed a big contract with a team that has championship aspirations. He looks sluggish and like he has much less lift out there to me.

Looks like he got the San Antonio diet in the summer. Spurs have to be a little peeved on some level.

Blazer fan... Unless he is wearing #7 for the Celtics, I am not really seeing it. He's had more weight the past couple years, but it doesn't look like a significant difference from last year to this. Maybe slightly, but nothing really remarkable.

I am seeing that Aldridge looked surprised the ball was coming to him a couple times in that Spurs offense and he still plays a pretty methodical game, but cant be stopped 1v1. Also he seemed to be posting up down low a lot more, man I don't know if it was him or Stotts, but I wish we had had more of that in Portland.

He's definitely put on weight. His triceps and deltoids (esp rear) are far less defined than when he was in Portland. The back of the arm is where you carry a little extra weight, and he also looks thicker in the trunk.

it was Stotts

Right now, about 46% of his shots are coming within 10' of the hoop. That's just about what his percentage was pre-Stotts. In the last 2 seasons in Portland, that number was around 35%

but more then that, about 31% of Aldridge's shots before Stotts were taken in the 16-23' range. Under Stotts that number ballooned to around 40%. So far, by my count, only 5 of Aldridge's 41 FGA have come in that range...12%

I never liked what Stotts did to Aldridge. Much too perimeter oriented, but then the entire offense is that way

He'll probably lose it during the season. In fact I'd bet that by Christmas he's back to his Portland weight.

Though it's definitely not a good look to come into your new team's new season out of shape. I thought Pops in particular was a stickler about staying in shape.
