I'm a Lillard fan so I saw LMA plenty in Portland, and he does look a little tubby now. I think LMA looked at Pop's tacit condoning of Diaw's fatness and figured, "What the hell, why not. Me too!"

Don't people usually say that black is slimming?

He plays every team at least twice, and some more, and his team has been in the playoffs so it would certainlyhave been hard for people to just totally miss him...odd...

He's fatter than he was last season. That's why.

Anyone curious how some of these players actually even get fat? I mean when you're 6'10" and play a super intensive cardio sport like basketball, how many calories are you consuming exactly to still be gaining fat?

It's super easy? During the off season or when recovering from injury, they're burning a fraction of the calories they do during the season. If they don't adjust the amount they eat, they'll pack it right on. Of course most of them can afford private chefs and nutritionists if they wish to prevent that.

All the people saying it's the black - do you not realize the Blazers wear black away uniforms?

Anyways, he's definitely a bit tubbier. He's less defined than he was last year. He also has less lift on his jumpers, although that has been declining for some time. Don't know if it is because he's put on weight or if he's just losing athleticism.

I have no idea, it was just a guess. I remember reading that Michael Phelps ate around 6k per day, but it does seem a little high.

Phelps actually ate 12,000 calories in preparation for '08 olympics. JJ Watt eats 9,000.

6,000 calories is really not that hard to hit

1 large pizza + 10 wings is around 5,000 calories if you count sauces as well. And you're obviously going to eat and drink something else throughout the day too

True. But, that's really only if your trying to add bulk. My best guess would be 2,500-4,500 depending on the player.

atleast 4000+, I would not be shocked for the taller guys, 250+ if it was upwards of 6000.

Shootarounds, practices, their own training regimes, PLUS the actual games. For a big man who plays 30+ minutes per game, that's a ridiculous of calories being burnt. And they want to maintain their weight at least during the season.

And it's not like most of these guys have a ton of fat on them. For the leaner guys who still weigh alot, muscle burns more calories than fat does. A guy like lebron, griffin, howard... probably 6000-8000

he had to know he was going to play a fair amount of 5 in SA with West and Diaw there to soak up PF minutes. Wouldn't shock me if he added some bulk to deal with the bigs in the West.
