Cho (re. not picking up Hairston option) says he told P.J. and his agent he needs to be more consistent on and off the court.
Makes perfect sense. On court we can see; off court we've had hints. On court is bad enough, so issues with the other seal the non-deal. I'm perfectly good with this.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

The 4-5 post rant on the last page was really what I was waiting for when this news broke.

This is all I needed to hear. PJ is being cut loose because he's being a dumbass off the court. There are obviously issues with him that didn't even warrant paying him an extra million, not to mention that his on-court production is essentially zero. Wasted draft pick. Rodney Hood was picked one spot before our pick that year- add him to the list of good players we're missing out on by a single spot.

I can't wait to see if Clifford will continue to start the guy Cho chose not to extend at SG over the guy Cho chose to extend tonight

Re: He Stinks - The PJ Hairston Thread
All this praise for PJ's defense, but no mention of this pathetic display of defense? Perhaps this is what Cho means when he says PJ needs to be more consistent.
10/30 vs Hawks, 10:27 3rd quarter, PJ falls asleep and Bazemore cuts past him for a layup.

Re: He Stinks - The PJ Hairston Thread
Ok...I'm not trying to be a pot stirrer, and I'm not a fan of reading too much into statements, responses, etc.
With all that said, watch Cliff starting at 0:58 - http://www.nba.com/hornets/video/teams/hornets/2015/11/03/1446572751672-151103-Coach.mov-93424
To me that definitely does not indicate that Cliff was doing anything other than starting the guys he thought should start. Maybe his rotations will prove different, but that response struck me as a little less enthusiastic than I expected. I'm not convinced that Cliff was on board with this.
I'm not saying he needs to be, and honestly I think maybe what PJ needs the most is to face the reality that his career is actually on the line and that he needs to prove himself. With that said, that just seemed like an odd reaction by Cliff.

Not sure what Cho is getting at. Hairston has been consistent since he got here. Consistently terrible.

So if he continues to play promisingly can CHA sign him to a new contract or do they now have to wait till July?

PJ needs a new thread title as well. He served his time with the derogatory title.

PJ is playing well, should change the title "He stinks" to "He Stings"...you can change it back after he sucks for a couple of games...
Hi Clutchie, I love you...

Re: He Stinks - The PJ Hairston Thread
Last night may have been the best game I've ever seen PJ play. Of course everyone shot well last night, but he is at least playing within the flow as a starter and trying hard on defense.

PJ did play well but at some point I think we need to start Lamb. J Lamb has Bradley Beal potential.

I wonder what the off court issue hinted at in the tweet is about. That would seem to be more of a red flag than any on court issues. The off court problem with PJ must be quite a concern if Cho is citing it as a reason for his decision.

Re: He Stinks - The PJ Hairston Thread
I still don't know why Cho drafted PJ in the first place, he violates all of his "4 C's" or at least destroys the character part. Cho gonna Cho.
