you can talk about how many rings Kobe has....I get the love....but he's not getting anymore and the Lakers won't get anymore until he's gone. He's done....It happens. Every pro player has to leave and most times they leave too late. Its time.

You're arguing points nobody made... But more confusing than that...

A Mavs fan that joined in order to discuss Lin signing with Charlotte... At least 25 of your 36 posts have been on the Charlotte forum... Have you ever even posted on the Mavs forum?

Specious... Very, very, specious.

So, I'm just going to call it like I see it. Don't troll the Lakers board. We don't particularly care about you're nuanced and adroit take on the Kobe situation.

Do you guys think ownership would have the balls to tell Kobe to kick rocks if he wants to play next year? Or will they be forced in to giving him a deal?

Pretty sure this is his last. If he somehow starts performing better that might be a question but the way he is going right now, I don't think even he wants more of it.

Also worth noting his family is with the team to see him play at MSG, unless this is his final NY trip I can't remember a time when they did that.

That's' my point. He's anything but definitive and keeps bringing up the idea of him playing further. Generally that ends with that player actually playing on from experience.

they haven't very often that's for sure, they're usually in school during the season so travel is harder but boy talk about an eye opener, you think of kobe having been in the league for a long time, but myself being the father of three i kind of see things that hit home... you see his oldest who's 13 now, siting next to mom and little sister.. she's a big kid now, a young lady, i remember when she was a little squirt, we've literally watched Kobe grow up before our eyes and raise a family.. puts a big bow on his career

Just want kobe to do what Magic and Jerry West did...be a laker for life. Kobe isn't hurting this team or hindering development like some of his critics say. He is mentoring randle, clarkson, and dangelo and setting these guys up for success. I think Kobe is gonna have some big games soon as well. Win or lose I'm enjoying the season and enjoying the goat play.

Kobe needs to get the f*ck out, it sure has been great, but the end of his career has come.

It's just depressing to watch Kobe play now. His behavior and shot selection have been atrocious. He may be our worst player and has cost us games with his selfishness. He can do whatever he wants after he retires, but the sooner the better for everybody. This is just getting awkward for everyone.

i cant see kobe allowing himself to play like this for a whole season. so either he adjusts to fit the teams needs or an injury/rest takes him out for a big portion of the season. its only been 2 weeks into the season, and it might not be showing up on the court yet, but he is taking our young players under his wing off the court. give it time. kobe has too great of a basketball mind to let his play continue down this slope.

It's Kobe's last year playing ball, his role is simple, play basketball with the new guys and impart some form of work ethic into their routines and share what he's learned after 20 years as an elite level NBA player and what it takes to get there..

Sit back and relax about it all, watch the team grow... We're a handful of games into the season and it's going to take time for him and the new guys to gel on the floor, find their places... this isn't a squad made up of vets that already know how to play ball. The Starting unit is Kobe, basically two rookies a second year player and a big man from the east coast who's not known for his offensive prowess...

Both offense and defense will take time to develop, it's a chemistry issue that everyone should have expected before the start of the season... I'm a bit surprised at so many people obviously having had such positive views of how this season would unfold and now being upset about it. I guess I'm wondering how can anyone who's watched basketball for a period of time have looked at this roster before camp started and not expected things to go anyway but exactly the way are going....

I know we are all excited about the new kids ( i know i am) and want to see them do well but this is a team that is far from being anything better than what it is and what it is, is a collection of players that have never played together and for some never played in the NBA at all.. It's going to take time, it's going to be ugly no matter who coaches the team, with this squad you honestly can't be expecting anything else but a few highlights now and then surrounded by lots of mistakes on top of mistakes...

Meh, some people just love to complain and scream that the sky is falling. we are 6 games in and even stars in their primes have struggled. we all know kobe's time is winding down but all this moaning like we would be winning games if he weren't on the team is crazy to me. all summer long you've had fans and haters alike harping on how bad this team will be,but all of a sudden if we got rid of kobe all our problems will somehow disappear? sometimes it's hard to tell the difference between this board and the general board.
