Not for a championship... you don't just go from lottery to championship contenders... But to make the playoffs, and win a playoff series or two and maybe upset someone... sure... but we aren't going to the finals this year... We are still so young we need to get some playoff experience and grow as a team.

For a playoff seed? If healthy, yes!

3 days ago we were looking for our savior because our bench & offense were so bad. Hell, after 3 quarters tonight nothing had changed. But 8 minutes of Reggie giving Portland the D and now we're contenders? Lordy...

Playoffs is very much in the realm of possibility.

I only hope the bench start producing because I think we might be grinding out our starters a bit.

No, still 1 really good wing player away and a year or two of more experience. Stanley Johnson may become that wing at some point or we may acquire one through trade, but I will say that we are significantly better than I ever thought we would be through the first 6 games.

1. There are currently only 2 PGs playing better than Reggie right now, those being Curry and Westbrook, with a honorable mention to Lillard.
2. Drummond is playing like the best center in the league, and top 3 big overall.
3. KCP has taken a noticable step forward, he looks more comfortable offensively and even with Dre/Reggie scoring like mad he's still putting up a solid 14ppg. (lead us +/- today apparently, which is crazy)
4. Morris has been a pleasant surprise and gives us a solid option in the half court who can get his own shot in the post.

I have to admit I never would have expected Dre to play this well this soon. I figured if he fulfilled his potential he'd be where he is now, 2-3 years down the line. But here he is dropping 20/20s like they're nothing...losing Monroe may have been the best thing that could have happened for Drummond. It's given him more space and forced him to take on more responsibility offensively, and its working.

I'm hoping for at least 50 wins which be a crazy turnaround and hopefully home court advantage in the playoffs. We're not contenders right now but just think what type of free agent we might attract next summer if we keep this up. Drummond really hooked us up waiting on that extension cause we could be contenders as soon as next season with a big signing.

No, but whoever we play in the playoffs had better play thier ever loving ass off. No one in the East except for Cleveland scares me (I said this before the season started).

No one in the east can stop drummond. Imagine us vs the wizards? How the hell do they stop drummond for however many games it goes?

More seasoning and someone more consistent then Erson at the PF spot.

Let me put it this way.

If the Pistons had Ibaka at the PF slot I would say absolutely we are contenders. I cant, so no.

Any chance we go all in and cough up a first rounder or two for a big time power forward? Not sure who would be available though...most likely courtesy a struggling team looking to retool around the trade deadline.

I agree I got too excited but I thought it was time to bring up that type of potential in the team. I agree. We need a solid PF, someone even better than Morris's brother. But you gotta remember. Jennings and Meeks are injured and those are legitimate NBA players that could start for several teams in the NBA. On contenders, they'd be bench players. Well they're on the bench on this team.
