He's a rookie on a team that's winning.

He has got a long way to go but the good news is he is the type of guy who will put the work in and get better as the season goes on. I'm thinking we could have a really good bench come playoff time if Meeks + Jennings are both healthy and Stanley takes the strides he is capable of... but right now he's still learning.

Easy answer. The same happened to Drummond. The NBA is a fast paced game. Sometimes a player can get into it right away and sometimes it takes time to adjust. His defense has been solid so you know it's not athleticism. Once you get the pace right, the game comes easy to you. He got it right in Summer League and Preseason. Right now he's struggling because it's a confidence momentum. His team is playing hard so that should help him get used to the pace quicker. I believe he will excel when Jennings comes back. Jennings is good off the bench and he'll make plays for Johnson. Eventually I'd like to see Johnson make plays but I think for now he'd be good a spot up, cutting, and running the court in transition. He's got the fundamentals. Just needs momentum and to have another player make plays for him. Countless players have faced this wall.

Lol I remember when Greg Monroe couldn't make a layup and now he's one of the best post up players in the league

He'll be alright. It's obvious he's still getting used to the pace and rhythm of the game. Getting used to playing with NBA caliber players. In year 2, he will be much, much better

I don't even think it'll take to year 2 to see him emerge. It's been 6 games. Let's not forget that his whole life has changed within the last 5 months, including his mother dying. Give the kid a chance to get acclimated.

He's 19 years old.

They generally don't crush the league right away. He's had his moments that convince me he can be a solid player in the rotation. Not sure how long it will take for him to get there, but we've got a pretty serious need for a strong rotation wing player and right now he looks like the only man who might fill it.

Length is definitely an issue for him, not saying he's a bum but that limits his potential.

Been saying that for awhile. He's waaay too small at 6'6 to be playing SF. Needs to move to the 2 guard permanently and become a much better shooter to make an impact in this league

He's 6'6 with a 6'11 wingspan. He's not Kawhi Leonard, but he's not too small to play SF.

i'm confused with your post. I don't know why you quoted my post specifically. I agreed that it will take him time to get acclimated.

When Maker agrees with you, it's time to change your opinion.
