2016 Trade for a Draft pick

Post#1 » by NBAWestFan » Wed Nov 11, 2015 8:15 pm

Looks like the Lakers don't have a 1st Rounder in 2016.

Top Free Agents are coming to a rebuilding team.

Clarkson, Randle, Russel are the three to build around.

Besides Kobe everyone for the most part are Assets to trade
for a 1st Round pick.

I am not sure who else will be the future but from what I see
I would try to trade a good player for a 1st rounder if this
years Draft is strong or even take a chance to get into the 1st round.

I have looked at the draft but it is work a look.

i think you mean "aren't"?

probably not, durant ain't gonna chuck a shaq and go hollywood, but at least try though right?

might as well, we're not getting superstars for them

you overestimate the worth of everyone outside of kobe and the three youngins

sure, i don't see how we get one at the moment though, maybe mitch pulls a little mitch magic

frankly, with the lakers start, it would be a tragedy if we didn't land top 3 and retain our pick

i do expect the nets to pick it up once they get to face the east bottom dwellers, their schedule outside of the lakers game thus far has been absolutely rough, can't predict philly though, tank's always on for them

I guess it is simple

Bscott does his job if the Lakers land in the Top 3.

Simple - don't win any more games or as few as it takes to get the most balls.

KD WB aren't a looooonnnnnngggg Shot to come and any other top guys.

Keep build through the Draft with Quality.

Why not skip Durant, and throw a ton of money at Harrison Barnes? SF we desperately need, still hasnt reached his potential, and fits with the rest of our young guys.....

Honestly first thing i would do is offer money on barnes and ezeli make them choose which one because i dont see them over paying for both and if you get one or the other even at an overpay you are weakening the devision leader and if you strike out on both you just wasted 3 days where nobody else would sign. This may be the summer to forget about the homerun and target RFAs first cant be any worse outcome than the last couple

I think we did make a trade, the rights to compete in the 2015-2016 season for one of the top 3 picks in the 2016 draft.

I doubt we sign Durant, he'd have to have been waiting to become a Laker for years now if that happened, no way he's joining this roster as it stands. That's why i'm intrigued by FAs like Barnes and even Jeff Green to a degree, we'll need time to develop this young core. Offense looks like it may be fine with this team, issue is developing a top tier defense.
2014: Randle / Clarkson
2015: Russell / Nance
2016: Ingram / Zubac
2017: Top 3 Pick? Fultz, Ball or Bust

Anyone expecting us to get a Top 3 pick is delusional. I realize our start says otherwise, but there's enough awful in the NBA for us to finish with as "good" of a record as at the 4th-6th spot.

Unfortunate, really.

Even if we are in the bottom 3 i don't see us winning the lottery twice in a row.

i normally count on just 1 team from outside top 3 to land top 3

our best bet is to stay bottom 2 or worst, easier said than done unfortunately
