The Dallas game skewed Al's personal stats but it didn't change how he negatively impacts the team. The teams interior defense is awful with him on the court. Offensively it's better in the paint when he sits and by a lot.

So, we are almost 10 points worse per/100 on defense with Al on the court...

Horford is hitting 3's now.

He's also currently on a team that (a) is a contender, (b) will have $40M in cap space next summer with only 2 UFAs (Horford and Bazemore), and (c) has his bird rights.

So they're keeping him, depressing. Any other free agent centers?

some notable free agent centers next season that aren't restricted

-Roy Hibbert
-Joakim Noah
-Whiteside
-Mozgov
-Horford

our best chance is probably Whiteside, pitch the hometown team thing. the others are either washed up or not going anywhere.

This is just eyeball stuff, but the ball stops moving way too much when it hits Al. His offense is built around ticks and pump-fakes and such ... all stuff that takes time to do. I honestly don't think that he will be able to function well in a fast paced ball-moving offense. Sample size is small, but more than any other time since he's been here I think that Al's fit is poor for what the team is trying to do.
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

Looks like we're screwed at the C position.

Cody would be fine as a starting C.

Hibbert, Mozgov, Noah, Whiteside.

Pau Gasol has a player option, he would be my top choice

Looks like we're screwed at the C position.

Noah could be interesting, get him to play limited minutes as a veteran starter, he would be happy to play his role.

even in limited minutes he is still a good passer, rebounder

a stronger Frank would be interesting. He seems to have good instincts on defence

Just to be clear - are you unaware of the stats generally supporting Zeller's impressive defense, or are you just choosing to ignore them?

He's playing against backups mostly.
