Webber was a much better passer and heavier, more of a low post player, Giles is more mobile and athletic, I can see some of his game but it is far from a perfect comp.
Difficult to compare Giles to anybody, he has some Bosh to his game, but he is a more aggresive big.

So he's announcing his decision today and I'm predicting Duke.

i think that's premature. He'll have time to get healthy and still keep his draft stock up by the time June 2017 comes around. His size, upside, and developing skillset should keep him in the convo. Considering the other guys expected to challenge him for that number 1 in 2017 all have had some sort of derailing injury to come back from (except Josh Jackson) coupled with at the moment that draft class being guard/wing heavy at the top he should be fine.

He'll play with his bestie at Duke plus Frank Jackson so he won't need to do a ton and can still showcase a lot of what put him on the radar to begin with.

Granted all of this banks on him coming back 100%. he's done it before so hopefully this won't be too mentally defeating for the kid.

Go DUKE!!! He'll have time to recover and learn from his injury. 2017-2018 draft and he'll be all good.

Coming back from back to back ACL injury is hard

But he also had a torn meniscus from what I heard. That's crucial especially for someone that is tall as him and plays the game of basketball.

Chris Webber is the general comparison at the moment which I agree with but prime Jermaine O'Neal with better playmaking is one I can also see. Defensively he'll be special and offensively he's got GREAT all-around skills.

C-Webb and JO exclusively dwelled below the foul line and on the block although JO would occasionally come up high to the elbow for a PNP jumper where as Giles can pretty much kill any defense from anywhere on the floor. He's more of a face up guy in the post utilizing jab steps and his explosiveness to beat his man rather than bulldozing his way to the basket with backdown dribbles.

C-Webb could handle the ball in a pinch from the elbow running DHOs and break down defenses with his high post passing almost similar to Marc now back in Adelmen's Corner Offense, but I don't think he can handle the ball as well as Giles by bringing the ball up and break down the defense from the top of the key with different dribble moves. And neither of those guys had range that extended to the 3-point line. Giles isn't a consistent 3-point shooter yet, but he's got solid mechanics that eventually he should become an elite shooter for a big which I hope to show on an edit/scout video I'm working on.

It would be interesting to see him used in P/R situations as a ball-handler like how Dirk was used in Logo P/R actions where a small would screen for him. In this case he receiver an angled ball-screen, but you get the idea:
