Hedo Turkoglu Announces Retirement from the NBA

Post#1 » by NxtGr8MagicCntr » Fri Nov 13, 2015 4:11 pm

Hedo Turkoglu has announced his retirement from the NBA today.

http://www.nba.com/magic/news/hedo-turkoglu-announces-retirement-nba

ORLANDO – Forward Hedo Turkoglu, who played 15 seasons in the NBA and eight with the Orlando Magic, has announced his retirement today. Turkoglu will be honored and recognized by the Magic during a special ceremony on Friday, December 18, when Orlando hosts Portland at Amway Center (7 p.m. start).

Thought I'd make a thread about the news as Hedo was a massive part of Orlando Magic history. Say what you want about him in his later years, but he was an extremely exciting player in the late 2000's. He came up with some huge plays for the Magic and also one of two players who won most improved under SVG.

This was my favorite play in the Hedo/ Magic days. It is the last shot in this video when hedo hit the GW over Seattle. I was at this game and remember everyone freaking out as he hit this shot over his future teammate Rashard.

Never Forget. Forever Hedo lol

Two years too late, but still all love from me. I wish him good luck.

He was an important part of one of the top two Magic teams and he was ridiculously clutch at times. He may be the best "no no no!! Yes!!!" player Orlando ever had.

Hedooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

I was at that Boston game(wearing my Hedo jersey) and remember two drunk dudes jumping up and down in a circle while hugging after he hit the shot.
That was one of my favorite moments as a Magic fan and Hedo will always be in my top 3 favorite players.

Come April, if the East's seeding is set, would you bring him in for 3 games?

I think its an easy answer.

Do i think Skiles would like the idea, oh hell no!

Thanks for the memories Hedo.

Quite possibly my all time favorite Magic player. I hope he is remembered as one of the all time great Magicians. Because he did a ton for this franchise.

Hedo! Hope we can be at the game when he's honored. Always one of my favorite players as well.

Hedo was the man. And he was absolutely 100% robbed of making the All-Star team in '08. I thank him for the memories and wish him a happy retirement.
