Horford + Batum would completely complement our young cores.

You'd seriously trade Clarkson for Taj Gibson? Aren't you the same guy that said Evan Turner should be our starting PG awhile back?

My focus in free agency wouldn't be homeruns or guys that take away from the youngsters (including Nance); I'd instead dial in on cheaply plugging defensive holes and finding guys who compliment Randle and Russell.

The biggest need, by far IMO, is for a versatile backup big (PF/C) who can score and defend.

I'd give up any combination of Clarkson, Williams, and Bass for a shot at Taj Gibson.

Guys just see names and go for it. Noah isn't good anymore, atleast to be the defensive anchor of a young team. Honestly I just see them resigning Roy Hibbert.

Barnes & Horford... Gas can't keep paying everybody... They will lose a player soon... Already have a top 5 payroll... Russell, Clarkson & Barnes would be a nice wing combination... Randle & Horford up front would be a solid combination... Going to be a long year...

Lake show baby...

The definition of insanity is doing the same things over and expecting different results. How many times does the team have to strike out in free agency year after year before they realize that free agents just aren't that into us. They expect to build a house with no foundation. Honestly they should just tank for the #1 draft pick and use their cap space to acquire assets. Give the whole free agency thing a try 3 years down the road when the talent's gotten a chance to develop and they can assess what type of team they have.

If the deal was right, yes.

And, yes, you've got the right man.

Durant, he's the only guy that matters right now.

What's your pitch to Durant? Come play with a bunch of rookies and nobodies?

not really... if anything, probably more of the same as the past few years...
-which probably starts with a stroll inside Staples and an opening line like, "take a look at those numbers and banners up there... yada yada... greatness... " ...
-then a walk inside Buss's office for a look at the O'brien trophies, followed by a line that sounds like, "... Lakers is all about winning... greatness..."
-capped off with a 1hr meeting where Kobe talks about greatness and being his new Lamar Odom... Mitch talks about numbers and how Hibbert is the best C in the NBA... Jim Buss talks about his father's legacy and horses... Jeannie talks about endorsements and Hollywood appearances, and how anyone who doesn't want to play with Kobe is a loser... and Byron talks about hard work, dedication and toughness.

seriously, though, whatever it takes.

Lol I like your creativity. But Durant would be better off staying with the Thunder who will contend for the next 5 years where as the Lakers won't even be out of the lottery in the next 5 years.

Horford for years, has been asking to switch to PF, that might be a huge selling point for him in FA.

so where would you put Randle? I do wonder if Horford would play center for another team, I mean if he's leaving Atl I think playing PF may be a condition but then again i'm not too sure

now i'm about 95% sure Drummond is staying in Detroit. But hey can we dream right, hell i think we're going to have the most cap space of any team this upcoming off season and our young core is much better looking now than last off season.

It's too bad that players haven't colluded like lebron wade and bosh did. We would have the space to sign 2 or 3 guys to team up w solid young core in LA
