You think what, that if we had Grant playing instead of Calderon we would have won tonight, or on any other night? You think that's the difference? There's bigger problems. We're not bad, but we just do not have players who can create with the ball.

They have good chemistry but Fisher has to find a better group to close out games. I like Melo, Gallo, Afflalo and KP and RoLo. They didn't lose bc of their defense. Gotta score.
Or maybe include Grant and push Affalo to the 3 and Melo to the 4 with either RoLo or KP. Get some spacing and ball movement.

can't play him 30+ until he gets his jumper going. Would rather see Galloway, but fitting him in is peculiar. I'll mention in a post below.

calderon had an absolutely brutal first few minutes. But play a really solid game after that. Not sure why Calderon is a problem at this point.

there were a couple possessions where gallo got it and he just froze used all the shot clock and handed it to melo with like 3 seconds left on the shot clock.

Once Melo gets the ball, it sticks. That's the offense. What is there to run?

We should just abandon the triangle and make it random player S/R with Robin Lopez. His illegal screens make a defender disappear so it's like automatic 4v5

Re: Unless Knicks bench Calderon
Knicks need someone to push the ball on offense... whats the point of dribbling to a corner and then having the shot clock go down, then u give the ball to melo on iso and he has no other option than to chuck a ugly shot?... why not push the ball, run some pick and rolls with Porzingis and make things happen rather than wait for things to happen. its just frustrating that you play a good game and at the end its the same thing that happens over and over again.

Why not, because teams play off his jumper? He is the only player on our team that can penetrate the d, get consistently to the line, and create for others. He had the best +/- of anyone on our team tonight as well. You saw that stagnant garbage at the end? It's because? we have zero other players that can take the opposition off the dribble.

Takes too long to set up the offense at the end of games when teams clamp down. Our best option (although not ideal) is to have Grant out there.
I hope Phil is seeing this and has Conley on speed dial this summer.

The PG doesn't need to get you into this offense. Everyone needs to set their picks and keep moving. Gallo does that just fine.

Uhh because Calderon cannot create any offense for anyone else? at this point he's a glorified jump shooter and that's not going to be good enough down the stretch of any game. Just because he doesn't make any apparent mistakes doesn't mean he's a positive in the lineup down the stretch.

I don't know what game you are watching. But that was not the problem in the 4th. He is also averaging almost 4 assts a game.

two reasons:
1) Teams will sag off him like crazy, basically eliminating the dribble penetration. Now, starting him may mitigate that issue, but I don't think the ball movement is really as huge of an issue with the starting lineup in my opinion. It's really:
2) Grant is the only guy who creates for the bench. If you start him, then there's almost no way the bench will score points easily.

Lol because until he makes teams pay consistently with his J they will just lay off him in the 4th. Grant picks up his dribble too much too BTW...

Agreed. I only left Grant out bc he's looked hesitant/uncomforable out there. Expected since he's a rookie but I know he's capable eventually.
Make the Knicks great again!
