Official Miami Heat 2016 Offseason/Free Agency/Trade Thread

So as some of you may have read...

The rumors of riley meeting with LA were legit. It was reported that riley wanted LA to take a MLE with us for 1 year (this year) and then sign for the NEW MAX this upcoming summer.

This is interesting to me though because, let's say that happened. What would that mean for the rest of the team?

- What money would be left for dwade
- Is that basically suggesting that we are letting whiteside walk

Kind of crazy to think about. Anyone have any ideas about this?

Probably would have used it to draw KD to Miami then who knows what the team would look like.

Good thing he didn'tt' bite. Would not give up Bosh or Whiteside for him, He's good but not great.

There was always zero chance of him coming here and he's not a player that moves the needle much anyway, Rex is right.

IMO the hole thing was a message to the Heat organization and maybe more importantly the rest of the league and upcoming free agents, that the Riley-fire is still burning and that Miami very much is a destination to consider in the future. Perception is everything in FA.

I love the Riley/Aldridge story. Pat had no business meeting with LA when we all know damn well we had no money for the guy. Riles is so damn slick!

IF LA did agree......we'd have Bosh & Aldridge.....how would that work exactly?!?

That would be a splendid rotation! but somebody wld have had to sacrifice and come off the bench

Yeah I don't see any of the three coming off the bench. But that would be an incredible big man rotation.

What we need is more scoring from the wing. Dang, & Dragic need to step it up.

i feel that the godfather sometimes get played/cucked by other players just like he was in the mo' Williams pursuit for example.

Are you saying that this was one of those situations? Because it definitely wasn't. LMA met with Riley out of respect even though we had no money. We had no real shot at him anyway. Compare that to the Knicks who didn't even get a meeting because Aldridge heard that they wanted him to play center, or the Lakers who LMA basically laughed at once the meeting was over.

Riley asked him to take $3mill this year man. lol LMA knew we had no real shot yet he still respected Riley and his opinion. The Lakers and the Knicks wanted to throw the max at him and he refused to even meet with the Knicks and he basically laughed in the Lakers face.

Didnt Aldridge use Pat to get the max he wanted from the Spurs? This was a win win for us because it gave us exposure but there was no chance in hell of this happening. I can imagine the conversation over steak, Pat makes his pitch because he has to, everyone in the table laughs including Pat then everyone proceeds to enjoy the night. Spur hear about the meeting and up the offer to the max the next day. We get good exposure, Aldridge gets what he wants and everyone is happy.

Lol but i do question the reason why lamarcus decided to go public with this.it makes riley looks bad.at least to me anyways

false story!!!

The true story that I heard is, Riley ask LMA to resign with Portland for a year and the Heat will re-sign him next year for the cap space they had
