After a nice bowl of chili, there's gonna be some gas.

Great showings from Humphries and Temple, players who have gotten some hate on this board. A few more like this, and teams will stop leaving Humphries open. Another good game off the bench for Nene. Oubre showing some moves. Good game.

Also, let's give some credit to Nene - he was terrific, especially on the defensive end.

People were overreacting to his first few games, remember that this guy doesn't touch a basketball over the summer and needs to play himself into shape.

Gortat is never going to forget Wittman's criticism.

After a loss Tuesday night to Oklahoma City, Wizards coach Randy Wittman sniped at Marcin Gortat, who had just one defensive rebound in 27 minutes.

Before the game, he predicted Gortat would bounce back, and Gortat did with 10 rebounds and 13 points. Gortat said this week that he didn't appreciate the public criticism.

On the flip side, dude did grab 13 rebounds. Wittman got a win. :dontknow:

Temple is a solid player and IMO a better choice than Neal at backup SG.

It HELPS that the Magic were on a back-to-back. Porter had 10 rebounds. Good stuff.

Oh, like I was saying ...

HUMPHRIES should stay at PF. No way Blair can hit threes. Just give the new lineup a chance.

No, I wasn't. :)

.
Was out with my daughter for dinner/movie as my wife was under the weather and wanted sleep.

Heard the score on the way home and am now just playing back the game on the DVR. Nice touch with the Paris moment of silence and French national anthem at the start of the game.

The role players played well tonight and Wall recovered from a weak first half to carry us home down the stretch. The defense was much better tonight. Not great, but a real improvement. I thought Temple and Porter were particularly good.

Good luck with Beal, he looked really good before he got injured.

In the meanwhile, I'll be defending Elfrid from 2/3rds of my board that blame him despite nobody else from our team doing much the second half of the game.

I was thinking Payton's starting to show signs of becoming really good. Every time I see him, he seems to have added something to his game.

He looked either sick or hurt.

You're right. He just didn't seem right.

Post game, Hump said they had a couple of really hard practices. I'm hoping he just had dead legs.

Our terrible offense wouldnt be so bad if our defense was the same as last year. I think its time to start Nene, i dunno. Gortat couldnt stop Vucevic. Nene's D was solid.

And then Hump played great, so i dont exactly wanna bench him either. Maybe just more minutes for Nene. Bench Gortat earlier if he cant play defense.

I also have a feeling Witt won't last the year. What coaches are available? Any that would help us in the KD sweeps?

Well, in fairness, we took Mike Pence off their hands. Taking back Mahinmi is the least they can do.

Remember when the media considered Kris the loser or on the outs and Lamar Odom seemed like he had it together? (Bruce... I'll leave him in the past--more power to Caitlyn.)

Kris escaped the circus and he's balling.

Hump is attempting 3.5 threes in only 21 minutes shooting 46%. When he gets run off the line he should automatically look to take it to the basket. If someone rotates to him he should pass the ball quickly. If he does that instead of taking that pullup j then he will be a major positive on offense. That pullup j needs to be retired.

Watched some, then out to dinner, and plan to watch the rest today off dvr.

Dedmon seems to have carved out a solid, journeyman role for himself in the league. Good for him -- we could certainly use a guy like that.

Relief to get a win -- that was a tough 10 days! Keep it up.

In fairness , Vucevic is good for 20 points a night against any defense. Not much you can do with a 7-footer who's got that much stuff in the post, yet can step out and drain jumpers with ease.

Nene is definitely our best defensive big, but I would still continue to start Gortat unless he develops a pattern of getting lit up by worse big men than Vucevic.

Against specific match ups like Vucevic, Pau Gasol, Brook Lopez we should lean more on Nene. But fully demoting Marcin to the bench at this point seems too reactionary - he can defend opposing Cs well for the most part

Without running it through a trade checker I think I have an idea: Blair to Orlando for Andrew Nicholson.

I'll also point out that Nene went up against Dedmon for much of the time. Gortat had the misfortune of being matched up against Vucevic nearly the entire time he was on the floor.
