The big question for me with Simmons is his defence. If he can become an elite big wing stopper then I don't think we can say no. If that part of his game is lacking then i'd look at the PGs. I must admit that he's at the very least an intriguing talent who will be fun to watch develop this year.

I'm not a big fan of this draft though. I'd be happy with any of Dunn, Murray or Simmons though. I really like Bender too but we can't take him unless we're trading him or something.

The one thing that impressed me with his D last night was, he switched on the picks. He seemed to have enough to athletic ability that he can go with guards. Now, it was against McNeese state so I want to see him do it against tougher conp

My first thought when watching Simmons last night is that you just get that feeling that you are seeing a superstar.

Like when you first saw Kobe or Lebron. It was just obvious that you were watching a superstar.

Wiggins never gave me that feeling. With him I had the sense that he COULD be a superstar, but with Kobe for example, it was just obvious where he was going when he was in high school.

I had that same feeling with Simmons last night.

Ingram and Skal are both balling tonight.

Skal with 16 points with 6+ minutes to go in the 1st half.

Everyone is going to sleep on Henry E because he plays for Marquette, but he had a monster first game. Dunn also had a career high 32 and looks like he'll feast on the big east this year.

Skal doesnt know how to pass, he doesnt even try or look at the option, really concerning.

Ellenson is good, but he is going to be as good as his shot becomes and he improves physically, he has a rather weak frame.
Dunn is talented but he is too much about his own show, he needs to adjust in terms of efficiency, making easy plays and not turning it over, the gap between him, Murray and DJackson is small though.

We are in desperate need of a wing scorer, but I'm not sure we can pass up on Simmons if we have the #1 pick. It just means we'll be trading some key guys.

Why? Simmons might be a natural facilitator, but he's going to still be a high level scorer from the wing.

My concern is that he will not be able to guard nba 3s. Thus playing most minutes at the 4, where we have plenty of talent(incuding Saric).

It's not like he's Jabari Parker. Simmons is a high level, near elite athlete.

Absolutely adore Brandon Ingram, he's my guy this year, that combination of length, athleticism and a sweet jumper is insane!

As always, you draft BPA...if the lottery plays out that Simmons and Ingram are the BPA's when they draft...then grab them both. Ingram needs to mature physically, but has looked good as well. Simmons looks special in a lot of ways, but he's one game in, so there's a lot left to prove.

He will guard 3's better than Okafor will guard 4's.

Simmons could be a franchise player. If we get the chance to get him, we take it and figure it out later.

Ingram looks great too. The top 5 or 6 players in this draft are very strong, and I would say that they are better as a group than last year, at least at this point in the season.

Will Simmons be a scorer in the nba?
