Yeah, tell us again how there aren't any problems with this team. It's only because we played two undefeated teams on the road.

I laughed so hard at the replay of that missed kick, so that's where I'm at.

As soon as we burned the time out on the 2-point I knew we would fail, get the onside, and then regret not having it.

God wanted us to win that game and we couldn't do it.

Bad teams do more with less, offensively. I refuse to accept that Jordy Nelson was the linchpin that made our offense work.

Re: Lions Post Game: Welcome to 2nd Place
Before this week I thought there was a 0% chance of McCarthy getting fired after this year. I think there's chance now if we don't miraculously turn it around. That was an embarrassment to the organization out there today.

Maybe McCarthy should, you know, do the playcalling again.
And maybe Capers should, you know, be sent to a beach somewhere with Joe Whitt as the DC.

Capers will be the scape goat
MM will be around, he'll retake the playcalling

Re: Lions Post Game: Welcome to 2nd Place
I'll start with the good side. Thought the D played well the entire game beside the last drive. Randall is this years MVP and it's not even close. Our secondary when healthy IMO is the best in the league. Really scary it took two games after the bye for Capers to realize on the outside you should have Randall/Sheilds and nickel be Hayward.
Pass Rush-Can someone put an APB out for it? The last 3 games there' been awful and they've played two terrible o lines and I don't think they have a sack. Peppers was great last year, but he's been truly awful this year and Neal/Perry can't get to the QB. Maybe one year we'll get an ILB so we can put our best defensive player in a spot he can succeed.
ST-Really hasn't been an issue and the **** the bed in ever phase today. Hyde couldn't cost us more field position today if he tried. Matshay isn't an NFL punter and the kick coverage team really helped out today. Crosy of course with the shank of all shanks today.
The Offense-Really don't know where to start. We missed plenty of opportunities the first half due to Rodgers accuracy and then the second half we had what like 3 or 4 straight 3 and outs? Then all of a sudden the knife is at our throats and we go down 75 yards like it's no big deal. Time to fire Clements.

I squandered an asset? Then Hammond taught me well.

Re: Lions Post Game: Welcome to 2nd Place
If we couldn't beat a 1-7 Lions team at home, where they haven't gotten a W since 1991, even with the benefit of two missed XPs and an onside kick recovery, then I'm not sure what other evidence folks need to see to show our problems are serious and season-altering.

Absolutely. The Lions were dead last in points per game allowed. We're playing like the 4-12 Favre year with Samkon Gado.

Re: Lions Post Game: Welcome to 2nd Place
Rodgers was pretty pissed before the two minute warning when we didn't call timeout. He seems to be much more frustrated this year (obviously) but also with McCarthy's decisions. If he gets frustrated enough, Thompson might not have a choice but to fire McCarthy.

If he doesn't retake the playcalling by next week he's insane.

Oh, and for all of those folks who thought Davante was good enough to be our #1 going forward, where ya at? All I hear are crickets.

Re: Lions Post Game: Welcome to 2nd Place
I like how we probably had a play call for the 2 point conversion. Decided to call a timeout whether that was because of the play clock or just to make sure everyone was on the same page of what play was going to be run and then out of the timeout leave a blitzer unblocked right up the **** middle so Rodgers has to throw it like a second after the snap.
