I wouldn't trade Brad for Cousins because I think there's a strong possibility that you could get him for pennies in as soon as two years. When he enters the final year of his contract it's almost a certainty he'll be moved by the deadline if things haven't changed dramatically in Sacramento.

If he has a preference in that case for a place he wants to go, then they'll accept said deal. If he demanded a trade to DC, we might get him for Gortat, a bench guy and a 1st just so they don't feel too upset.

And yes, if we don't get KD then we should be frightened. Almost everybody is going to catch a max from their current teams and I could see Ernie overpaying for a guy who doesn't move the needle.

FWIW, trading for Cousins doesn't necessarily end the KD2DC dream. As long as Beal is included in the trade package for Cousins, then we'd have the cap room to add Durant even after Cousins is on board.

Yeah,if he's expiring.

Good stretch four for the short run and very likely could be a David West discount player next season. He's gotta be miserable in Brooklyn.

But if and only if Joe Johnson is expiring...

Joe Johnson is never going anywhere for his leadership. You don't have to ask too many people in NBA circles to find that out.

He could help on the floor, but there's no way to acquire him without giving up Nene. So unless we got a viable backup center back in the deal, it doesn't make sense.

I wouldn't include Beal in a Cousins trade.

Beal is going to be a part of any foundation I try and build. But he's especially important in a Cousins build. If I made a move for him, I'm not going to put myself in a situation where I can't walk away from him and still be successful. That's an unconscionable risk to take on Cousins. I won't crash and burn if I still have Wall and Beal. But I don't think I can survive with just Wall.

And I'm not going to trade Beal for Cousins, then hope for Durant to replace Beal's role.

For me it's between Cousins and Durant. Or the likelihood of getting Cousins versus the likelihood of getting Durant.

Beal is just coming into his own. Its hard to package him up in a deal for Cousins. I think of Rip Hamilton when I hear it. Then again, you gotta give up something to get something. As Nate suggested, trading Beal will keep us in the KD2DC sweepstakes, after we get Cousins.
Cousins + Durant + Wall > Cousins + Beal + Wall
....but if we have no chance at KD2DC, I'd like have Beal + Wall rather than Cousins + Wall
All comes down to how much you think Durant will sign here.

When SAC trades DMC it's going to be for lotto picks and players early on their rookie deals. Beal is a 4th year player due for a big payday, not exactly what a team starting from scratch is looking for.

Isn't the Kings new management pretty solidly 'win now'? Pretty sure they'd prefer a developed star rather than starting from nothing, and losing all the momentum from their rebrand

Cousins just put up 30 in the second half, and 40 overall in a win over the Nets.

Kings are 3-3 with Cousins, 0-4 without. (Cousins haters, comments???)

Rondo just had his third triple double in the last 4 games.

Terrence Jones came back two games ago for Houston, he's been great individually:

vs DEN: 23pts/7reb/4blk on 9-12 fg (3-4 3pt)
vs DAL: 23pts/6reb/3lk on 10-15 fg (1-3 3pt)

We need to seriously target this guy

What's your opinion of Seraphin after seeing him for a few months?
I see his stats are worse than his time in DC, but what's your take?

If you know any Knick fans, he's a future hall of famer.

From reading the knicks board after WIzards' wins, they want to cut all their players

That's pretty accurate from his time in DC.
Thanks.

I watched the game, almost fell out of my seat when he passed out of the post to a cutter

O'Quinn is a very good rotation big (most of us here wanted him), there aren't many minutes there for KS unless he improves a lot
