I think one thing I've noticed these last two games is that our ball movement has been MUCH SBETTER without Kieff and with Leuer.

I'm not even talking about assists, I'm talking about the ball moving from side to side instead of it being stopped once one player gets it.

That's why I really love Leuer starting even if he's not putting up fancy stats.

Marcus Morris and Markieff Morris tend to be black holes, they hold onto the ball too long killing any chance of shooters having that extra second to shoot the ball. Also kills movements, cuts... kills any dynamic actions actually.


Marcus atleast NOW plays in a strict system, where Van Gundy will hold him accountable for not following plays and he is given a role to be the outside shooter, similar to Rashard Lewis did back in his hay-days. Which Im sure Marcus likes...

Markieff needs to become a quicker disposer of the ball... either through shots, passes, tips etc. In the Suns system anyways.


In any case I think he will still be traded.... when things cool off and his value goes up.

It does seem to be moving much better. It seemed like most of the early games where I thought it was not moving was more because it seemed like Knight and Bledsoe were over dribbling.

But Leuer may indirectly help reduce that as well, since Bledsoe, Knight and Kieff are all natural scorers, they may at times feel like if they pass the ball they won't get it back, and perhaps are less inclined to pass, so with Leuer, they know there is a better chance the ball keeps moving.

Knight seemed to get a ton of catch and shoot 3s at least against the Clips which is much better than him iso'ing and stepping inside the 3 pt line for a long 2.

I am not sure why this is true. Kieff is actually a very good passer and is willing to do so when players move off of the pass to him. But it is also true that once he decides to shoot he holds, jab steps, holds, and eventually shoots. He make a remarkable number of those contested 2's but it seems to stagnate the offense.

I am not sure why this is true. Kieff is actually a very good passer and is willing to do so when players move off of the pass to him. But it is also true that once he decides to shoot he holds, jab steps, holds, and eventually shoots. He make a remarkable number of those contested 2's but it seems to stagnate the offense.

It has more to do with how his teammates react when he gets the ball. Playing with guys like Kieff who ISO a lot kinda makes you not wanna move coz you know hes just going to shoot it anyway. The result is a lot of ball-watching and stagnation.

Not to mention that the act of feeding the ball to the post stagnates the offense because its mostly done with the inbounder holding the ball and Kieff trying to free up for the pass. Everybody just kind of sits there and waits for it to happen. And for team like the suns, it happens wayy to slowly.

I forgot one thing to say... in some plays... the bledsoe/teletovic pick'n'pop looked A LOT like the Frye's days.
I'd love to see this type of agression back. Their defense needs to pick your poison but you'll die anyway.

Mirza just is very bad on defense. I don't mind him shooting bricks all day like Frye did (spaces the floor).. Mirza is slow on defense and not big enough.

He looks like he struggles just to move around. Even his shot looks like it takes too much effort, even if he gets a nice high arc on it. I'd prefer we run some Frye-like P-n-Ps with Leuer.
