Get a Pick N Roll Player before trade deadline

Post#1281 » by SuperKato » Fri Nov 13, 2015 7:10 pm

Hello, with "much" improved offense, we are still a long way to go !!

Both Kemba Walker and Jeremy Lin are great Pick N Roll point guards, but they don't have any great Pick N Roll partners.

What is out there in the market that we could reasonably get ?

Any ideas ?

Dwight Powell , what is the chance of getting a trade with Tyler Hansborough for him ?

negative zero. Dwight Powell looks like a pretty good player. We'd probably have to trade a late 1st for him.

I had to google Dwight Powell to find out who he was. Read that he was a 2nd rounder we drafted but traded with Haywood to Cleveland.

Awesome.

Awesome.

We traded every player we actually drafted that year.

Noah Vonleh to Portland
Shabazz Napier to Miami
Dwight Powell to Cleveland
Semaj Christon to Oklahoma City

....but at least we have PJ.

i dont have a huge problem with trading away our 2nd draft picks, it really is dumb luck in finding a good player that late in the draft.

Would we be able to play Faried at the 5 and go small? I'm looking for ways to get rid of Bad Al and there really aren't many options.

Faried/Gallinari for Jefferson, Kaminsky, Marvin Williams, and 2016 1st round pick top 3 protected

Walker/Lin/Roberts
Hairston/Lamb
Batum/ (MKG)+
Gallinari/Zeller
Faried/Hawes/Hansbrough

I think Faried is too small, he isn't much bigger than MKG.

this is probably horrible, and could be risky.

Al for Omer Asik and 2 1st round picks + 2 2nd round picks (because Asik is under contract for 5 years at 11million per).

If it works, we just got a top defensive/rebounding center for nothing.

If it doesn't, we have 16 million in dead money between him and Hawes. but we get some picks that may or may not be good.

If that's on the table then just work a deal for Bogut. He makes $11 million this year and next. The Warriors need to sign Ezeli and Barnes next summer so he'll probably be gettable. Al gives them tax relief, Marvin a great piece for their title shot. Plus Bogut is better in so many ways for the Hornets.

I dont think the warriors will mess with their roster and they need bogut for the playoffs against the large western teams and the cavs if they get to the finals.

Maybe but they're already playing Ezli more minutes. If Bogut is getting 7th man minutes it'd be hard to turn down a package that improves them this year while saving $20 million in luxury taxes next year. At this point I'm not confident GS views Bogut as a necessity.

Charlotte gets:
Kevin Seraphin
Jose Calderon
2017 Houston Rockets Second Round Draft Pick
2019 Houston Rockets Second Round Draft Pick
2019 Cleveland Cavaliers Second Round Draft Pick
$3.3 Million Cash

New York gets:
Al Jefferson

Nah, don't want Jose Calderon's contract. I prefer the 13 million in cap space. I also think Al is worth a mid-late 1st rounder at this point.

Crazy trade idea, not even sure if it works...

- Kemba, Cody, and a first for Derrick Favors
- Al's expiring and a future first for Danilo Gallinari

Roll out with a starting lineup of Favors-Marvin-Gallinari-Batum-Lin.

Next year, we'd go with Favors-Gallinari-MKG-Batum-Lin with Frank sliding in at the four against bigger lineups.

I would easily do the 1st. i honestly dont think thats enough for Favors.

would do the 2nd, a bit dependant on where the pick is.
