Why dont we...
Run more pick and roll? It seems like our offense is all motion cuts and iso. With bigs who have good range and guards who do well at driving to the basket it seems to me like running more pick and roll would really help the offense. I would also like to see Vuc get the ball a lot more often in the post.

Thats what i thought too but its what we primarily did last year and we were bottom 5 offensively.

I think the team will run more pick and roll(pop) as the year goes on. They already know how to do that so they need to work more on the motion and cutting offense.
I knew exactly what was coming and still cracked up.

Did Skile run much Pick and Roll with the Bucks or Bulls? im worried this is just his style of offense. It's not like Pick and Roll is hard to teach

Literally Elfrid & Vuc's bread and butter. That isn't what made the offense bad last year @Orl ... that was probably our best play. The rest was just freestyling around.

I like that the guys are learning more motion and off ball movement. They still fall into old habits of standing still, so if like to see them master that a bit more whilst adding some more pnr back into the offense.

I notice this too. They like to stand around at certain times of the game, especially in the second half. If we could keep them constantly moving, like the Spurs, we wouldn't be losing these leads in the 2nd half like we usually do. I can't tell you how many times I'm screaming at my TV telling them to start moving around like they normally would.

It likely has more to do with Oladipo and Payton just not being that good in the PnR.
In the PnR as the ball handler, Oladipo is ranked in the middle of the pack 54 percentile (0.8 ppp). Payton is in the bottom 4% (0.4 ppp) of the NBA in running the PnR.
Of note, Fournier is ranked near the top - 94%.

I seem to remember them being much higher last year though. Is there any way to access the same stats for 2014/2015?

I actually think our offensive system suits better for our team than pick and rolls. We dont really have the shot creators or luxury of having playmakers to primarily run PNR as evident last yr.

This is a good question in that the PnR is the most effective play in the NBA. But right now Oach Skiles wants the players to shoot more 3s. I guess this is about getting a shooter's touch, and then next year, work more on bread and butter.
The Pick and Roll will dramatically increase FT attempts for this team. By 2016-17, this really needs to be the most common set play run.
