Notes from Dana's scrum/conference thing after the weigh ins. Video in the link (it's like an hour, I didn't watch)

http://mmajunkie.com/2015/11/dana-white-notebook-cyborg-probably-next-for-rousey-doesnt-want-hughes-vs-serra-2

Here’s a brief rundown of White’s fan chat in advance of the pay-per-view card at the 70,000-capacity Etihad Stadium:

“The Ultimate Fighter 21” veteran Nathan Coy took the trip Down Under with American Top Team representatives at UFC 193, asking White for a chance to fight at UFC 195. White referred him to matchmaker Joe Silva.

The outcomes at UFC 193 could shape of the banner UFC 200 card on July 9, 2016. “The timing lays out perfectly for the fights happening right now,” White said.

The next women’s division headed to the UFC is flyweight.

Rousey will “probably” fight six more times in her career.

Phil “CM Punk” Brooks could fight before summer 2016, but White added he hasn’t had any fights and should take his time before making his pro debut.

A rematch between Matt Hughes and Matt Serra sounds like it isn’t happening. “I told (them) they’re too old to be talking sh-t,” White said. “Matt Serra weighs about 315 pounds. Those guys were awesome back in the day – I don’t want to see either one of them fight again.”

A “maniac” B.J. Penn apparently is training again, but White said “I don’t know, we’ll see,” on a comeback.

The latest round of roster cuts is “normal,” and there’s no more cuts going now than there ever was.

The UFC helped Nick Diaz hook up with Campbell and Williams, the firm that repped Julio Cesar Chavez when he was suspended by the Nevada State Athletic Commission for marijuana. White didn’t exactly jump to Diaz’s defense, noting it was his third suspension for marijuana. “You can smoke all the weed you want – you just can’t do it the day of the fight.” At the same time, White admitted the NSAC’s punishment was “heavy” and said “it will all work out for Nick.”

Attacks by the Australian media on the UFC and calls to ban children from watching it “no biggie” and defended MMA as a sport that teaches self-esteem.

A UFC event in Hawaii is close to being finalized and could be announced soon. “It’s not done yet. It’s coming, and it’s coming soon, I promise,” White said.

A rematch between Diaz and Silva is not happening, but the UFC is looking for opponents for Silva “right now.”

On a rumor from Chael Sonnen that Jose Aldo will not fight at UFC 194, White said, “That’s crazy. Aldo’s going to show up, trust me. He won’t miss this fight.”

If Conor McGregor beats Aldo at UFC 194, the UFC is headed to the 80,000-seat Croke Park in Dublin.

On the hell-freezes-over scenario of co-promotion, White joked, “So what would I do, co-promote the Royce Gracie-Ken Shamrock (trilogy)?” Later, he added, “Fifty-year-olds fighting is never a good idea. I hope no one gets hurt.”

A Wanderlei Silva comeback? “Probably not.”

The heated clash between Rousey and Holm caught the promoter by surprise, but he assured fans that, contrary to a picture circulating on the Internet, he didn’t get handsy with the challenger.

No talks with Georges St-Pierre has happened, despite a report that the ex-welterweight champ is doing a six-week camp to test a possible return. White said he heard the news from Freddie Roach, who’s running the camp.

Fabricio Werdum wanted to take time off after beating Cain Velasquez for the UFC heavyweight title, which delayed a rematch. “You can’t make guys fight,” White said.

Cat Zingano has a fight coming up – “actually, she doesn’t even know yet. Let’s see how tomorrow turns out, and then we’ll let her know.”

A conversation between White and Miesha Tate hasn’t happened yet, but White indicated that Tate’s talk about retirement after being passed over for another title shot meant she might not be in the right frame of mind to fight. “When you even start thinking about retiring, you probably should retire,” White said. “In this sport, if the “r” word comes into your head, you should probably retire. But the whole thing with Miesha is Miesha and I haven’t even talked yet. I tried to talk and she was too busy. She was on vacation.”

The gate for UFC 194 is at $9 million with tickets in short supply.

Rousey will “probably” face Cris Justino next if “Cyborg” can make 135 pounds.

The women's flyweight division thing is the most interesting to me. I would have figured atomweight, but then you probably lose half of the strawweight division.

They might lose more than half the strawweight division if they added atomweight. They will lose fighters from Bantamweight adding flyweight though not that many.

"Rousey will “probably” fight six more times in her career."

Last night changed everything. I'd say the rematch will be her final fight, win or lose.

Well here is Santos' comment, but it's not exactly a denial of anything Askren said - http://www.mmafighting.com/2015/11/16/9734550/luis-santos-responds-to-criticism-by-ben-askren-one-boss-victor-cui

Man, I never said I wouldn’t fight him. I don’t know where this garbage took that from. I’m a well known fighter and it is normal that organizations come offering contracts. If he wants to see messages from Titan FC offering me a title fight, he will realize that he doesn’t know sh-t. I’ll fight him anytime. He’s hiding behind this accident that happened with me at the weigh-ins.

He’s saying that I went to the hospital, and I really did. I wanted to check on my health. I have the right to do that, and this garbage has nothing to do with it. He should dress like a man and have fought me because I was just a pound over.

He did a scandal, wanted me to cut more weight on the day of the fight. I didn’t accept his rules because he wanted me to weigh-in again five hours before the fight. This guy is afraid. He has a dozen fights and wanted to say I am scared? He doesn’t know ****.

Victor is like that, he’s explosive. He has two options, to release me or not. When this guy poked me in the eye on purpose, ONE didn’t do anything against him, and Victor even got upset that the fight was over. But I understand his side, I only didn’t accept (Askren’s) conditions. I can guarantee you this: he’s afraid and he used this as an excuse.

Rogan telling Dana the fight to make is Vitor/Anderson. Dana agrees, then says Vitor wants it. I'm doubting Anderson does.

If they do make that fight, I hope they make it in the deepest jungle in Brazil where no commission can find them.

Oh ****, gonna have to carve out some time to listen to that.

I'm sure Vitor does want another shot at Anderson, and I wouldn't blame Anderson for not wanting to give it to him.

Anderson needs to retire.
His legacy took a black eye with his two losses and a weak win vs come at me bro Diaz.

He shouldn't pull a Kobe and linger too long. GSP left at the right time. His ACL killed his strongest part of his game, and he didn't look good against Diaz and Henderson, but got the Ws. If he hadn't lost to Serra, he'd be the undisputed goat.

Headliner, GSP is coming back. So we'll see if anything changes. He's the GOAT in my eyes though, personally. I think the fact that Anderson popped the one and only time (or was it twice?) he was ever tested out of competition is a huge black eye.

GSP is coming back for real? Hmm...he didn't look great against Hendricks and that was 2 years + 1 torn ACL ago. I would love for him to come back strong, though.

To be fair, Hendricks is a middleweight.

If GSP comes back, it's for one fight, maybe two.
I don't think he wants to end his career on the Hendrix note. He probably doesn't hold Lawler in high regard either, since they basically came up on the scene together and GSP had a much greater career.

Considering all the damage Lawler just did to his main training partner's nervous system, it would be weird to 'not hold him in high regard'. Lol.

I just don't know what these superfights for GSP are that everyone talks about. I've never been into the Anderson thing, honestly. Who else is there?

If it's not Anderson, it's back into the WW shark tank for GSP. I'd favour him against everyone, to be honest, but if it's 3 to 5 fights, I don't think he gets out of it unscathed.

Not too many guys on the "Superfight with GSP" level, even if you go all the way from 155 to 185. Interest in the Anderson fight may be at an all time low, but I'd still be curious. A lot of GOAT points on the line.

The thing that worries me about GSP is, and I can't remember specifics at this point, but I remember reading how he had taken more strikes in his last 2-3 fights (Condit/Hendricks/Diaz) than he had in his entire career or at least for the last 10-12 fights before that combined. It was something similar to that. Coincides with both age and ACL injuries. He has torn his ACL at least twice at this point, been off for years, etc.

Superfight might be at a low, but the second it would be announced the fires of interest would spark everywhere.
I think now that Silva fought Diaz and showed a poor performance, it has to at least intrigue GSP.
Personally...I think GSP wins. His takedowns would be way too much for Silva.

We'd basically guessing IMO, we have little idea what we'd get from either repaired ACL GSP or non-sex pills Silva.

I think a huge factor is whether or not Anderson is still being trained by Sensei Seagal.
