Very good use of intentional fouling by Smitch.

Whiteside needs to learn how to shoot FTs.

He shot 4 of 5 vs Raptors. Last 2 games he's been off.

The success of Whiteside and Drummond should be a lesson to not pass up on ridiculous physical potential (nor meddle with physical attributes).

Man... the Pistons are going to be a good team for years. They are doing this without Jennings too.

So Whiteside is a +10 and Bosh is a -34 tonight.

A -34...

Damn, Minny dropped 41 in the 4th. Miami wasted a great game by Whiteside.
"I definitely knew he traveled, but I didn't know they were going to call it. That was one of them situations in which a great player made a move...and they called the call. And I was like, 'Oh, man, there is a God.'

Those blocks aren't completely empty stats, but it's worth mentioning that a guy like Mozgov (and quite a few others) who averages 1.2 bpg is a better rim protector than Whiteside. Hassan is simply contesting everything, and is often out of position to get the defensive board when he doesn't get the block, or gets pump-faked and then opponents score easy points.

Sorry but every time I check out different games I find myself thinking wtf we could have had Drummond and Whiteside right now...

Not saying I don't love Val but would have great flexibility right to create an amazing trade package worst case for some upgrade in talent at any position. To think how different the world would have been without Ross.

This was so close to being an absolute monster dunk. Wiggins almost had it.

He used to shave them. If you look at older pictures you can see it. I guess this year he's just letting the beast in him out.

Absolutely. I think that we overrate the physical freaks sometimes, but in the case of both Whiteside and Drummond, the cost was very low. With Whiteside, he was a free player on our summer league team. With Drummond, he was a physical specimen (who was slated as the #1 pick in the next year's draft before re-classifying) that we could have had with the #8 pick.

It's not like these guys weren't risks - Drummond sucked in college and Whiteside was a journeyman player who had been floating around for years, but the risks were so minimal. I didn't believe in Drummond during the draft, but I still thought he was well worth the risk at #8. I thought Thomas Robinson was a better pick for Sacremento than Drummond - but at #8 when there was a clear drop-off after Drummond seemed like a bad idea at the time to me, and obviously terrible now.

I just don't see it. Drummond looks like a top 5 Center for years and maybe he'll become a top 10-12 player overall but they have below average starters at the other 4 spots. They still have Josh Smith on the books for 2 more years and they let their 2nd best player, Monroe, walk out the door with nothing to show for it.

Even at 6-5 they haven't been all that good this season. They're 28th in offensive efficiency, 27th in 3FG% and 30th in assists. Offensively they've been dreadful but they've stolen a couple of games with their Defense and they rebound well because of Drummond.

I still don't see them making the playoffs this season.

I dont get how so many people believe in the raptors, they have zero to chance to win it all.
