Markieff Morris
I want to know what u guys think about him? So much rumors about him being unhappy his brother came out an said it doesn't even look like himself. Imo I think he would be a great fit in our small lineup then PG can return to his natural position. Do we have what it would take to get him in Indy without PG of course or GHill an turner?

I dont think we have what it would take to get him to be honest. I don't think he's a great rebounder which would be my main concern. I think both Lavoy Allen and Ian Mahinmi are better at rebounding, essp offensively. I like Morris though, i can't say i wouldnt want him, but im wondering at what cost?

How about Terrance Jones?
Houston has a log jam at forward, and not enough minutes for all their guys. I think a guy like Jones would be perfect on this team. Again, no clue on price tag but ive heard he may be on the move to add some new blood to that Houston team that started the season struggling.

Re: Markieff Morris
To me, Markieff and Terrance Jones are both auto no's for one reason only (though to differing extents); I want no part of them in my locker room. They're both (to differing extents) destructive forces to team chemistry, or potential powder kegs in the sense that they either have outstanding legal cases against them, or are destined to appear in more crime blotter going forward. Neither were very apologetic or showing of any remorse for the heinous things they did. Add in Markieff's penchant for going public with any "perceived slight" he has imagined, and I just want nothing to do with his long-term contract. Maybe for a straight up swap of Chase Budinger, but that's about it, if I'm taking on a potentially hamstringing long-term contract on a potentially very bad egg in my locker room.

I agree Scoot. The last thing we need right now is a locker room poison. The only player I would realistically trade for a toxic player is Budinger.

Why so down on budinger? I think he could be a contributor in a month or so.

I'm also not very high on Budinger. I think he's an okay player but i think you can get more use from someone else. In this case i'd prefer to see more of Glenn Robinson III then Chase. To me, Budinger is just a three-point line to three-point line type of player. He plays decent defense. But someone more athletic, like Robinson, can give you more. He's also a very good defender, has good size, can attack the rim and can shoot. He is more raw and unpredictable then en established player like Chase but his peak is higher also. I just think giving 18-20 minutes to a guy like Budinger isn't that valuable, and a guy like Robinson plays a more-rounded game of basketball and the needs the minutes to truly see what kind of player he can become.

Re: Markieff Morris
But budinger plays smart. He covers passing lanes. He passes on break. Grob has the physical talent to go around him, but he needs to earn his minutes. Bird gave him a three year deal so time is on his side.

Re: Markieff Morris
I do think we need to be looking for a more permanent option at Power Forward. IDK if Markieff Morris is it, but he's the type of player that would fit well I think. I like CJ Miles a lot, and despite looking pretty good with him at PF I am still a bit unsure if that's a solid option to stick with going forward. Are there any prospects in free agency that would seem to fit the bill?

He's on the bench with a broken thumb.

Re: Markieff Morris
I'm surprised that with the injury to Turner they didn't recall Christmas. We missed interior help when Jordan hill couldn't play. Anyone know if Christmas traveled to LA?

I was just thinking that myself. If Jordan Hill is not going to play we need another big body and it would be a chance to get Christmas some playing time in the NBA. We need that other big because a little bit of foul trouble will have us playing PG at center.

Re: Markieff Morris
I do feel like we're not exploring the side of Myles Turner that could be a pretty awesome stretch 4 that could shoot from the outside but also bang like a big power forward.
