I'm drunk from my date tonight but I didn't see anything except for the fact we absolutely didn't even compete. I'm not even surprised. The Hawks did the same sh*t. They stuck it to us knowing we knowing we owed then a draft pick. Sad but true.

Boston went 6-8 on 3s in the 2nd quarter which then opened the lane for David Lee.

It sucks to watch but this happens to every team a couple of times a year. This team is tired from being on the road. This was the 3rd game in 4 nights which was preceded by our west coast trip. We have only played 4 home games compared to 9 road games. You could see our tired legs by the lack of moving without the ball and all of the short shots. The lack of moving without the ball lead to the turnovers and the short shots lead to long rebounds. Both kept the Celtics in fast break mode and we couldnt keep up.

This next week we will get rested. We have tomorrow's game vs Boston and then 2 days off before Wednesday's game at OKC and then another 3 days off before Saturdays game at Cleveland. We will get time to practice this week for the first time in a while and it will give guys like Karasev and Sloan an opportunity to get into the rotation.

Bad losses like this one were due given how thin this roster is, but they just had to pick the worst night to do it. At least this sets them up for giving a strong reply Sunday.

They didnt pick this night, the NBA did. If we were the Spurs, this would have been one of those games Pops doesnt play Duncan, Manu or Parker. It's funny how the Celtics are the team we played here as the 3rd game in 4 nights. Boston was coming off of a home game and a days rest while the Nets had to travel to Charlotte instead of playing in Brooklyn with the Hornets already in town. That didnt make any sense. It's like the NBA tried it's hardest to make us look bad. Nets have had the 5th hardest schedule to start the season and have played the 2nd most road games. They also havent played consecutive home games yet, only Toronto and the Jazz share that distinction with us.

i'm pretty sure the schedule makers didn't think about making the Nets look bad when they set this game up.

do people prefer playing weaker teams earlier in year or the tough schedule we had so far?

It goes back to losing winnable games. We've squandered wins against Milwaukee, LA, Sacramento, Golden State, Charlotte.

At some point I was expecting a mental letdown from losing hard fought games. That's honestly why I was so angry with Hollins when some of his poor decisions cost us those wins. This team will lose their spirit and last night was an example of that.

yep, that was what i was afraid of, losses mounting and the team's spirit getting snapped in half. Had they won the games they had in the bag we'd be fine.
