Noel wasn't going to be able to play with him and he was going to be Brook Lopez part 2. Three years of tanking and all we have to show for it is Noel, Covington, the European Luke Walton and the hope that we can flip Okafor later, to some GM that's sleeping.
Okafor for smart and Brooklyn pick.
I think about it. Okafor could be a really special player.

Watching him attempt jumpers, he shoots with his hands, and the way his body twists towards his guide hand when he takes a shot makes the release inconsistent. He isn't "pushing" the ball straight out of his jumper, he pushes it a little to the right as he jumps and compensates to the left with his guide hand. Its hard enough to correctly gauge the distance of a shot - Simmons doesn't have repeatable mechanics lining up his jumper to begin with.
One wonders if him being ambidextrous (which makes him a great ballhandler and finisher) contributed to him developing that habit but he looks to me like his shot is more in the "broke as hell" category than in the "work in progress" category.
He's about the same size as Blake Griffin - might be the guy to model his game after.
He has not even near the in-game athleticism Griffin has, plus Blake's touch and shot are terrific, he has always been a better one on one player, better body control and hops.

@deanondraft: Rabb has been absolutely torching soft defenses. Can't wait to see how it translates to a real D vs San Diego State on Thanksgiving

Zimmerman looks a bit like Cody Zeller out there,
Fischella wrote:Remains to be seen, he certainly looks more complete and promising in terms of rebounding and athleticism.
Doesnt have Skal's touch or jumper, Rabb is anywhere between Ed Davis and Jermaine, we shall see, but he looks like a top10 pick.

But despite the short and relatively unproductive play against Kentucky, I like that he appears to be a willing teammate and accepting of a supporting role while still showing he can be aggressive. It will be interesting to see how his shooting numbers evolve during the season.
Another guy whom I haven't been able to watch but who might be in the top 10 mix is Thomas Bryant of Indiana. Seems to already be firing up 3's, is a shot blocker, and reputedly has a strong motor.
As for Bender, my fear with him is his assertiveness. Seems to be a mark on many of the scouting reports I've read. Whereas I loved both Nurkic and Portzingis coming over, much of it was due to their aggressive nature. Again, it's still early and I look forward to tracking his progress and viewing as much youtube as I can on the guy, I have trepidation.

IMO, if the BK pick ends up 3-6, Ainge will trade out for an established player.

Easier said than done. A player worth a top 5 pick has to come available.
