Re: Around the NBA 8.0
Never cared much for Greg Monroe. Just looking at team defensive efficiency, Milwaukee has dropped from having the second best defense last season to the second worst this year, while Detroit has made the jump from 21st to 8th.
The Brandon Knight trade was a disaster, which was obvious the moment they made the trade. Trading away Dudley, Ilyasova, and Zaza this offseason probably didn't help either.

@dsallerson
Fun Fact: Tim Duncan didn't record a rebound for the first time in his career tonight vs @PelicansNBA.

Jonas Valanciunas broke his hand.
You know what that means!

Toronto would probably love to have Hans back, but he is not available for another three weeks, at which point I expect him to be traded, unless things change with the Hornets. Their second team has been miserable since Lou and Tyler left. They are only shooting 41.5% overall and 29% from three. The irony is that Valanciunas finally had become one of the main players for Toronto, whereas in previous seasons, the coach would go with a veteran in the last minutes of the game.

Why do you expect that (that we'll trade Hansbrough)? We see him as our end of the bench big who would be useful in the event of injury. That was what we said we expected when we signed him, go watch the interviews. The plan was never for him to be a regular part of our rotation. Who do you think we would trade him for?

My view is it's a prime opportunity for him to prove himself, and I'm happy he got it. I genuinely hope he can entrench himself as a reliable starter for that squad.

A small forward.

Who has a $1M SF to trade that would be worth trading for and would want Hansbrough instead?

James Johnson would be a great addition for us

James Johnson isn't a choir boy, he'll hurt the locker room like Lance did. Well, more like Ben Gordon did. JJ doesn't really care for coach authority.

Sixers up 17 on the Heat.
Watching Pistons play. Their depth is an issue for them

Re: Around the NBA 8.0
Looks like that Phoenix offense greatly inflates player values. First Frye, who is now one of the league's worst contracts - Now Dragic, who looks very ordinary to start the season. Then they take Brandon Knight and turn him into a 25/5/5 player.

Re: Around the NBA 8.0
Milwaukee is currently the 3rd worst team in the East as well.....lost by 40 to the Pacers tonight! MCW is straight up killing them, and Monroe looks to be a cancer on defense. Milwaukee's defense has fallen from very good to really bad this season, and Detroits has gone up from bad to really good. Wonder if we can poach a player from them if they continue to lose (cough...Cody for Henson...cough)

Milwaukee has great assets but need to move either Monroe or MCW. Along with Giannis it's their version of playing Cody,Al, and Kemba together.

Re: Around the NBA 8.0
Detroit's bench is fairly putrid. They might have the worst back up PG situation in the NBA until Jennings comes back. Lots of Reggie Jackson coasting to save some gas for crunch time. They've had a very Bobcats inspired schedule this season too, I think Bob Johnson's daughter is even forcing them on a road trip for her equestrian event at the Palace.

Monroe and MCW are poor man's versions of Al and Kemba- damn that's got to suck. At least Giannis, Middleton, and Parker are really good.

Re: Around the NBA 8.0
I thought MIL was being overrated, but I really didn't think they'd be this bad. Forty point beat down to the Pacers, and PG didn't even have that good of a night.
Zinger with a line of 24 points (8-12 FG), 14 boards, 7 blocks. HOU is a mess.

Re: Around the NBA 8.0
So the Knicks did everything in their power leading up the draft to not take Porzingis - either hoping one of the top 3 would fall or the rumored trade back with us. They seemingly took him as a last resort and now he looks like he could be the best player in the draft. Pays to be lucky sometimes.
