Great ball movement doesn't require exceptional passers, it only requires the team to buy into the concept of passing to the open man which is not happening right now because everyone is just ball watching while Bledsoe/Knight/Kieff iso's.
D'Antoni won't turn Bledsoe/Knight into a passing wizard ala Nash but I think he can do a lot to help with the spacing ad getting guys to buy into a team offense. I think we are lacking one exceptional shooter to make this work though.
At times though, it does seem that we have good ball movement and we find the open guy for an open three, which is why we have the second most 3s in the league, and even though it doesn't seem like we have the greatest shooters, they are shooting well, as we are also 2nd in 3 pt % I believe. Of course this is an area where Hornacek helps a great deal, already having helped Wesley Matthews and Kyle Korver become two of the deadlier shooters.
I think the ball movement SHOULD improve as they play more together. Atlanta got better at ball movement in their second year under Budenholzer, after playing together a while. About half of our players haven't played together for more than 15 or so games....so this is just something that I think is a chemistry thing that doesn't happen overnight.
Edit: Just checked..we dropped to 3rd in 3 pt %, after Indy's crazy 3 pt shooting nights.
