Re: Suns find themselves in a pickle: Moving Markieff Morris
FAs are gonna get paid 50% more or thereabouts this off-season.
Batum you'd probably consider at $14m (similar to our 3 guys), probably going to cost $20m if he has a good season.
I'd love Motiejunas, we'd be buying low, probably gettable with our fringe assets and for a salary similar to Markieff.

Re: Suns find themselves in a pickle: Moving Markieff Morris
This team has more problems then just markieff. The coach may need to go as well.
Len is in his 3rd year and is still not seeing consist minutes I can't even tell you if he's improved outside of just getting slight more minutes.
Archie Goodwin hasn't improved since his rookie year.
Tyler ennis was a afterthought.
Jeff went to weems and price before giving booker even an oppurtunity shame.
Warren has seen consistent minutes even then he looked ready last year in the summer league everyone was calling him a natural scorer so what's up?
Ryan McD has drafted all these guys and hoarded even more picks for Jeff to turn the other way. Don't even get me started on his rotations.

A's over Royals. Lester and experience will prove that he's worth the trade.
Tigers winning it all. Tigers are, imo, peaking at the right time.

Yeah, and Ryan brought in Chandler and Weems to play minutes. Weems hasn't played much, and Hornacek quickly discounted that McD signing and started playing Booker. The biggest problem is Sarver. If he was so adamant about the 8th seed and said "lets play our young guys a lot so we can be really good in the future instead of focusing on the now" this would be happening. But Booker has played quite a bit regardless.

I haven't seen him play until price got hurt.

He played in the first game. He's the youngest player in the league. I'm a bit surprised he already has gotten this many minutes pretty early. Are you mad that Goodwin who we drafted a few years ago, and Weems who we just signed are not playing and a raw rookie is playing ahead of them? I'm not, but your argument seemed to indicate you were not happy that the players McD got are not playing enough.

The Suns are just.........smh........and we have been since 2009-2010....... We are the only team in the league that is just waiting on this superstar to just happen like it did with Houston and it just isn't working. We need to control our own destiny. I don't know who we should trade or keep or whatever.
The only guy I really like is Devin.

I still think we need to trade Tucker. He's the first guy who needs to go imo because he is a placeholder. He has no chance to help us contend by the time we're ready and doesn't bring the teaching/leadership to make him valuable to the youngsters like Chandler does.
Kieff is still a holding pattern to me. IMO, you wait until his off-the-court stuff settles and see what happens when he returns focus on basketball. He's playing worse than he has in years, so you don't trade him now.

No, but Archie should definitely be getting all of price minutes. Len should be getting more minutes as well.
Warren should be a starter.

I wonder if people will NOW be willing to package Booker for Paul George... Because earlier there were some doubters.
If I was McD I would of made the call before George got his value back up to where it is now. First week of the season I would thrown the farm for George.

Not me.
Throw the farm and leave who to play with him and to what, win a title?

The Dubs didn't get rid of any of their players, they drafted the guys they wanted and played them to see if they were good or not; when the player stunk, the got rid of them and moved on. Minny and Utah is doing the same thing and NO........
Trade Markieff for a player that fits better. We did start losing until that scrub came back. He is cursed. Just starting him with Tucker and Chandler is asking for a horrible start to a game; we get behind and the other team gets into a groove, then we bring in Warren and Booker when the mojo is down.
What were the Warriors record the first few years with Steph? If Steph were a Sun, he would have been on the bench and traded by year two if it were up to the Suns and some posters here.
Warriors one the title because they were not messing around with inept coaches either, they got rid of Jackson quick and won the title!!
We do the opposite of good teams, thus ZERO titles in 47 years.

Is this starting lineup a contender?
Bledsoe, Knight, George, Ilyasova, Chandler

But who is to say that Indiana would have been interested in trading George while his value was at an all-time low? They've seen been working hard to rehabilitate him and undoubtedly had a better idea of how good a player he still is than any other team before the season started.
People on this forum are cautious of trading pseudo-starter Markieff Morris until he has his much anticipated 'bounce back' - why would the Pacers even entertain the thought of selling low on a 25 year old who is arguably a top 10 player?

I think I recall reading the next court date is some time after New Years (January or February).

Either Kieff lost his basketball talent over the summer or is dogging it. I don't think anyone can seriously justify this moron anymore, we're already almost 20 games in which is 1/4 of the season so we can't just say he's rusty or off to a bad start or something.

Re: Suns find themselves in a pickle: Moving Markieff Morris
How about Morris for Trey Lyles? Lyles doesn't seem to be playing much for Utah and would fit our system well. He's fluid enough to run the break, and I think we can develop him into a stretch 4.
6 months ago, Utah would have done this trade in a heart beat - it will take some convincing at this point though to get teams to believe that all Morris needs is a change of scenery to get back to last year's numbers.

Just sit him down. There is no point in trying to trade him now. If he complains, the simple answer for Horny is "38% and 5 boards"

Re: Suns find themselves in a pickle: Moving Markieff Morris
When the assault charges first broke, I thought there was no way we would void his contract if he was convicted. I figure we'd stick it out even if he had to do 6 months since he was on such a bargain contract.
Now, if he takes a plea, we may seriously think about voiding his contract just to get rid of him.
Who would trade for him now?

Plenty. Look, to believe he has no value right now would only hold if teams judged Markieff's ability on this season moreso than the past 2 seasons. That just is not the case. That doesn't happen for 26 year olds in this league. That said, since other teams know Phoenix is in a bad spot with Markieff and they know he's playing like crap, they probably would lowball Phoenix in any trade.
The teams that make the most sense are Detroit and Houston, and once the felony is out of the way so that both sides know how many games he'll miss, moving him becomes easier. I still think we can get a first or one of Houston's PFs. Who knows, maybe Montrezl and a second? (though any trade with Houston likely has to be a 3 way). Houston is a disaster right now and need a shakeup, and I don't believe they'll want to pay both Jones and DMO this offseason, and both have lower value since they are impending FA's under this crazy new cap where Tristan freaking Thompson gets franchise money. I could see a 3 way where Markieff goes to Detroit, Houston sends us one of Jones/DMO, and Detroit sends Houston picks or role players who can help them.
