This is fantastic.
Great to get another voice with such close ties to the Wizards and its past successes involved in the happenings of this current team.
Would love to hear him chime in on what he feels is going wrong with the team.
Welcome Antawn.

Nicest NBA player I've ever met.
He will speak his mind and also not be afraid to call out John Wall's subpar performance.

I saw him on a Lakers (Clippers?) broadcast. He was pretty good.

Re: Antawn Jamison To Join Wizards Broadcasts
You think he'll take the Wiz players to task for actually moving their feet on D?
Seriously though, I think he'll be really good. I hope he provides a bit of actual critique.

He's a good dude by all accounts. Glad he's going to aiding the games.
Hopefully he isn't just another company man though...

I think he'll be a nice addition. Maybe it's an on the job audition to replace Phil (who sounds like he's slowing down)?

Why do we need a broadcaster to call out Wall exactly?

As a proud graduate of the Phil Chenier-Dave DuPree Basketball Camp, I will always be partial to Chenier. But, at 65, and after 27(?) years of broadcasting, he might be looking ahead towards retirement. Hopefully Jamison has the chops.
Always remember, my friend: the world will change again. And you may have to come back through everywhere you've been.

I'd like to replace Buckhantz, I know that pure sacrilege along these parts, but if he mentions "demathas own" "bethesdas own" "MD's own" "towson's own" "georgetown's own" once more I'm gonna lose my shiet
yes we get it steve, every basketball player is from MD

Without Gilbert neither Jamison nor Caron Butler would have ever been all stars.
As a player no way should he have called out Gil.

Re: Antawn Jamison To Join Wizards Broadcasts
P
It's sad but time is marching on.
I got a little down over the weekend as I watched Wake Forest and Duke NCAA football. Tim Brandt signed off for good after 40 years of broadcasting. I looked at his gray hair and wizened face and recalled when he started back in the 70s, when I was a young teenager. Tim Brandt was a young guy full of hair.
I remember seeing James Brown (sportscaster) when he was a real young guy with a big afro. He was frequently around Iverson Mall.
I always get sad when eras change. I remember Monday Night Football with Howard Cossell and Dandy Don Meredith. Now, even Frank Gifford is dead. Madden's darn near 80 and senile. Al Micheals is well over 70. Over the years who hasn't passed on: Al McGuire, Harry Carey, Jack Buck, Red Kerr, the great Chick Hearn ...
Phil Chenier 65? Man, I remember him as a young player with the Bullets.

We don't need it. I would like to see it.
Consor on the radio does a very good job of saying John seems to be off.
gtn130, I'm not arguing about a damned thing. I don't even criticize Wall any more.
Think what you will but I think an announcer who has played and who has credibility can hold his peers far more accountable than an announcer who's worried about media access or getting fired.

Re: Antawn Jamison To Join Wizards Broadcasts
I hope Jamison does a good job. I hope he has something to say other than the usual stuff everyone else already says. I doubt I'll tune in to see any time soon. The post-game shows usually just bother me.
