This is a back to back game for them. They'll be tired and we'll be home itching for another win.

Good point Spider! we really need to take advantage of this home stand...we're 5-2 I believe at home so thats encouraging that we're taking care of business at the Palace.

Yep, 5-2 at home and 4-7 on the road. Not unheard of for a young team dealing with a short bench due to injuries.

Could go either way, but I say we come out with the win with them on a back to back.
Now if this were the 76ers i'd be less optimistic since we seem to play down to our competition.

I also put a lot of the road problems on the scheduling too...thanks NBA. Not many young teams like ours can survive a early road trip like we had. We often forget how young and new we are as a team and it shows on the road at times, but by the same token it's encouraging for the future and how good this team can be even as early as post all star break.

If they can win the majority of home games and go .500 on the road by the All-Star break, we should be in damn good shape with Jennings coming back.

My thoughts exactly...him and maybe even Meeks down the home stretch is not out of the question either. If I remember right our schedule in the last 10 games or so of the season is very home heavy and relatively easy so to speak. All positives for our playoff aspirations.

I have zero hope for Meeks doing anything this year. He has not proven to be a guy who can step in and knock down shots after missing a chunk of time; he'll need to play himself back into shape and will take a while to find his stroke. If anything I could actually see him hurting us with poor defense and terrible shooting.
But I agree whole heartedly on hoping to stay .500 until Jennings returns and then hopefully making that playoff push.

I'm not especially high on Meeks, but I still think depth is our biggest issue with our two primary backup guards out of the lineup. I wouldn't mind running Stanley at the 2 more off the bench and let him abuse a few guards. It would also allow him to run the offense a little more which he excels at. And would alleviate some pressure off of either Blake or Dinwiddie.

i expect BK to come out and smack us in the mouth. But this is another game where we should win having mook and his history. These sort of games in which there's additional reason to be focus'd , at least for me(shout out to detkg), have more value. Maybe its based on my bball past, but anytime there's a hint of a rivalry, i always felt more tuned in. I hope its the same with our boys.......not like okc.

i am not high on meeks, but man does our bench miss him. Whens the last time we saw a player come off a screen and hit the shot? there's literally know one on our team that can use the pick effecitvely consistently and quick enough release to get off the shot. Also meeks had a knack for getting to the line and finishing through contact. Most importantly i feel the loss of meeks hurt us in the open court. This maybe me just mis-remembering, but feels like anytime we were in transition offense, meeks was involved when he was in game.

Is there any exemption we could have got for Meeks if we shut him down for the year given he has another year yet on his deal?

isn't he suppose to be back at the end of december? why would we want a exemption?

Was a BK fan while he was here. Just a bad fit at the time, but seems like he's kinda gone that Chauncey rout, bounced around a few times and has found a home. Good for him. But I hope he sucks this game.

Re: Game 19: Phoenix Suns (8-9) @ Detroit Pistons (9-9) 7:30 PM EST
I came across an encouraging stat on KCP:
He is 39% (7-18) on left corner 3s this year. Last year he was 39% (27-70). His rookie year he was 40% (14-35).
That appears to be his spot. Even better, Johnson is 58% (7-12) from the right corner and that is starting to look like it could be his spot. And Ersan is money from in front of the arc at 42% (23-54).
In other words, when SJ is ready to start we can put him in the right corner, Ersan in front like he is now, and just have KCP take all his shots from the left corner, and be able to take advantage of his defense while still having efficient shooting all around the pick & roll.
Its all those off the dribble 3s above the arc (28% on 16-56) that is making him inefficient. If he just stays with the left corner spot up 3 and plays great defense he could be Bruce Bowen 2.0, as that was all Bowen really did. He knew his limitations offensively and what he did well and stayed to it, which allowed him to be efficient despite having very limited offense. I think that's how we need to use KCP.

I think for the NBA to grant an exemption the player has to be legitimately out for the season. It's not really up to the team. In Meeks' case if he has a setback it's possible I guess but otherwise Detroit getting an exemption isn't likely at all.
In other news, Steve Blake still hasn't attempted a free throw this season.

Brandon Knight has taken a leap of his own this year.

correct me if i am wrong but wasn't kcp efficient at the 3 off the bounce?
If there was anything i could change about KCP's offense its:
1.) He literally can take most guys off the dribble or the pnr. He passes the ball off too much. i would like to see him slash more and once he gets in the lane, pace and control. Boys vision is underrated
2.) More 3's off the bounce. KCP can hit those shots if he's confidence. especially off the screen
3.)pull up three's. He's better than his numbers indicate

Yup I can see him making a big statement this game. Maybe he'll go for 40 points and the win
