The Heat Is On...

So the 2015/16 season is well and truly underway, heat fans came into this season with high expectations after a summer of promise. After resigning Goran Dragic to a hefty $90 million contract to come back and play alongside his all-star guard and running backcourt in D-Wade, as well as the return of CB, uncle Lou and the emerging presence of Whiteside,to go along with a stronger and more potent supporting cast to this core. On paper Miami looked to be back in the mix in the East.

Sixteen games into the season the heat are sitting with a 10-6 record and are seeded fourth in the east. However don't let this record delude you, the heat had a long homestead playing seven straight games at home against subpar teams and dropping a game to the struggling Timberwolves. The heat have also found them selves trailing in many of their ball games, digging them selves a hole that at times have been to deep to climb out of it. Most notably against the winless Seventy-sixers, avoiding an embarrassing home loss.

As per usual the norm questions surrounding the heat campus at the beginning of the season were regarding Wade's health and his ability to stay out on the court consistently. So far the man dubbing the #3 gurnsey who recently found himself in illustrious company after moving into the top #50 scoring list of all time has look great, missing only one game due to personal reasons. Leading his team the way that only he can, scoring 20+ points in eight of his fifteen appearances this season including a 30 point outburst against the Celtics last night.

Although Wade has continued to add to his stellar legacy and play his role, his fellow teammates have not, other than the emergence of Whiteside who has anchored the teams defence, helping the heat be a better defensive team by alter and blocking shots, the play of starting point guard Goran Tragic, *Dragic have caused many heat fans to question the five year $90 million contract. 29, Dragic is averaging career low numbers in recent years 10.6 points and 4.4 assists, struggling to adapt and evolve his game into a half court oriented offence. The poor production is one heat fans are disappointed about, and many hope he can turn things around.

To be continued....
