standing O from his roots, after years of exchanging taunts for boos. adrenaline pumping and he nails 3 quick ones beyond the arc. and finishes 4-23. good for the pick, but nothing else. gotta start him every game that comes with a ceremony. maybe even every game. but if he keeps shooting like this...

Look i didn't come here to argue with you but in the 6 games prior to him being hurt he shot under 30% form the field and 18% from 3....and he was turning it over. And the reason why he was done was because he got old. Old in ball terms is 34....which is what he was.
He tore his achilles.....Because he was old....was he better than he is now...yes.....but he was done.

I appreciate the loveLakers fans have for Kobe. I get it. But there comes a time and that time was about 3 years ago. I do wish you the best bro.... :)

You are confusing injuries.

At the time he tore his Achilles in April 2013, he was carrying the Lakers (the squad with Dwight Howard, Steve Nash, Pau Gasol) on his back into the playoffs. His last 2 games, he dropped 47 on 14/27 shooting, and 34 on 9/21 shooting.

That Kobe was aging very gracefully, to the tune of 27.3 PPG on 46% shooting that year. Sadly, the Achilles injury really did him in.

You are talking about some later injury.

Yea you're right i was talking about the 2013 season....youre talking 2012-2013.....He played 6 games in 2013-2014 season....he was done then....thats what I'm saying

Yeah, Teddy you obviously don't know what you're talking about on this one. Kobe was playing some of his best basketball of his life leading up to the achilles injury. He was playing entire games too.

Yea you're correct on this. I was talking 2013-14 season which ended differently. He was done at this point....My fault

The poster you replied to was specifically talking about the Achilles injury and its impact on Kobe, and those 6 games you mentioned were when he rushed back from the Achilles which proves his point- until then he was aging very gracefully and likely could have been pretty productive in 2013/4 and 2014/5. Now I have no idea what kind of player he would have been this year had he not torn his Achilles, but that injury was like falling off a cliff for him.

There's nothing to play for this season anymore, largely due to Byron Scott's inability to coach and get ball movement and sticking his players in wrong positions to be successful. Kobe shouldn't be a focal point of the offence, he should be our primary ball handler and facilitator on offence. Making him as the first option in the post or on isolations is just encouraging him to put up a boatload of shots because that's the way the offence is supposed to run. There's no movement for Kobe or anyone. It's all iso's and pounding the ball with Kobe and Randle or a pick and roll with Russell or Clarkson. That's it. We're averaging like 18 assists a game. That's not all on Kobe, that's the direction of how this team is being taught offence.

So, enjoy every shot attempt and the times Kobe gets hot and drains a couple in a row, because we're not going to see it for much longer. For better or worse.

Kobe shouldn't be our primary anything. Especially not ball handler. He can hardly cross-over anymore. Half the time he drives he bounces the ball off his foot. The ideal would be he actually lets the young guys play together, rather than being a firewall. It's not a mistake that our starting lineup struggles so much offensively. They don't feel comfortable taking the ball from Kob. And he doesn't trust them.

Agreed. When he was in the facilitator role last season before he injured his shoulder, he was playing well, getting others involved and putting up near triple double numbers every night. That's what Byron Scott should be making him do.

Byron Scott has completely lost this team where even players like Nick Young are calling it a "circus."

Oh so I'm the spoiled brat? Who's getting "hurt" suddenly that Kobe, possibly his idol and worships, gets called out and compared to other players?

I'm more concerned with the team winning and improving than watching a legend make the worst decisions for himself and his team.

Instead of attacking me why don't you respond with something of substance.
