It's a 2 horse race for rookie of the year. Unless Okafor improves his defense and sixers start winning a few games combined with the impact of his offcourt antics - it's highly doubtful he'd win (since the media votes). Porzingis is a bigger favorite than Towns cause he plays in a bigger market and his team may actually make the playoffs at season's end. Porzingas is so popular his jersey is one of the top sellers in the league and it may even be possible he get's voted in as a starter for the East in 2016 ASG.

He needs to score more to win the award - that could happen after the trade deadline if heat deal deng for bench depth and picks while inserting Winslow as a full time starter. I don't think Pat Riley is interested in resigning Deng (who is on an expiring deal) because he is preparing to sign a max player next summer (Durant, Lebron, Horford, etc). Heat also need to cut salary to avoid paying the luxury tax - they started that process with the Chalmers trade weeks ago.

Winslow is a role player. He wont be a star. Just needs to be really good at 1 thing if he wants to stick around.
