Lamb’s shot defense, something for which he rarely receives credit, has been phenomenal. Last season, he was tied for 15th of 141 wings in Points Against per Shot at 0.91. In 2015-2016, the Hornet has been even better with 0.73 Points Against per Shot and an Overall FG% Against of 33.52. These numbers rank him 2nd in both categories, trailing only LeBron James in each. Lamb’s Fouls per Shot defended rate has also decreased dramatically from a problematic .098 last season to an elite .048 currently.

Sigh

I think this actually upsets me the most. I understand firing Scotty, I think it was dumb but I understand. There was no reason to give up on Lamb for an inferior player.

Yep, and at the same time I feel vindicated for every time I said on the trade board he's better.

As irrational as it probably is tonight's loss was more concerning that the others. It was as if there was no real rationale to the closing. It started out as small ball against a big unit we were effective against for most of the game with our starting unit which Miami reacted to by going small and out smarting us with good leadership and coaching.

We seemed over focused on 3 point plays which we were missing and the Heat countered qwith good ball.movement and the easy 2. We didn't have effective screens it was almost run down the clock and heave a brick. **** I was frustrated by the end of the game. Westbrook is usually hot or cold in an end game but tonight he just looked confused. Can't remember him being stripped like that before.

Yeah, I don't know. I'm constantly looking for improvement but there's no consistency at all. We keep getting really bad calls, our offense's stagnant and we can't defend to save our life.

I can't think of it either. Its at the point where I don't see any roster fixes available, the problem changes daily, and the results differ in how they get there but remain the same. Ultimately this roster is 3 or 4 games better than the injury riddled one last year, which is tough for me to understand.

Well this is reassuring. The Durant clear out was Donovan's call:

Durant missed his first chance, a 26-footer off the mark with little movement around him. Then after a Dwyane Wade circus shot tied it, Donovan called timeout and again placed the ball in KD's hands without action around him.

“Trying to take the clock down as much as we did and then giving Kevin space to play in,” Donovan said. “Then I have confidence with Kevin and what he's gonna do with it.”

Durant held the ball for about 12 seconds, took a few dribbles, backed rookie defender Justise Winslow far enough away and flung up a relatively open 25-footer. It was off-line again.

“There were no screens for me, just doing my thing out there,” Durant said. “I got them to shift in a little bit and I shoot 47 percent from the 3 and I got an open look. I just missed it.”

The ball should have been in his hands:

Some research, for the new offense:

After 19 games played, OKC ranks the following in player tracking as a team:

Passes per game: 30th

Potential assists per game: 20th

Touches per game: 30th

Frontcourt touches per game: 28th

Time of Possession: 19th

Seconds per Touch: 27th

Dribbles per touch: 30th (tied)

Points per touch: 1st (good!)

Post touches: 27th

Paint touches: 23rd

Give Billy some time. We might crack the top 25 by next May.

That sort of screws the ball movement rhetoric of billyball

You know what cracks me up? People talking about Curry peaking at a GOAT-level, when Durant did the same 2 years ago with less help from his team. How soon people forget...

Just to be clear I'm not letting my SEC bias (screw Florida)get in the way of forming a clear POV,but has Donovan been as bad as I think he has been? Offense looks just as bad as it has in previous years with the you go, I go approach and the playcalling has just been odd at times - last night's last shot "play" was horrible.

I haven't watched a lot of OKC this year but have seen a decent amount I guess and I don't think Billy has been good...at all.

Whatever you thought, worse. Can we have Fisher?

Jesus, that bad? As for you guys having Fish - can't cut him in middle of season. I'm not a huge fan of his, but last few games he's gotten better.

Yeah, there's less ball movement than ever, the defense got worse, and the rotations are getting better but still off. I get patience but this really wasn't the time for it if that's the plan . Glad to see Porzingis doing well, man the kid's fun to watch. Didn't expect him to be good honestly but he's killing it and now I like him too much!

You guys should give the latest Thunder Buddies podcast a listen to. They cover all the problems right now and give a little input closer to the team.
