Re: Award Winning Lakers Board NBA Dynasty League
So there's no logical reason as to why we are giving up 5 players to add two treadmill teams to the league (do these two individuals want to even GM two treadmill teams to begin with?) and we just have "get over it." K got it. Makes perfect sense.
We are talking best case scenario middle of the pack teams, full of players that will get dumped for draft picks if those GM's ever want to win anything. Why are we giving these players up again?

You're protecting 9 out of 14 players. 3 Bench and 2 UTIL guys. You can't spare that? The good GM's can replenish through FA or trades. Just because it's another challenge for the team gifted the number 1 pick.. get over it. Seriously.

Re: Award Winning Lakers Board NBA Dynasty League
Ty, do you really think it is fair that some team could lose five players while another loses none in expansion?
That scenario might not even come up, but it should be prevented from occurring. I don't think this is an unreasonable request.
Even the NBA does it this way when they had their expansion drafts in the past (teams could only protect a certain number of players and if they lost a plsyer then all of their remaining players were then protected).

I'd rather trade Kevin Durant for Embiid than give up 5 players to someone who isn't even active in our thread.

Punting after you see what your team's identity is half way through the season isn't a bad idea because you can make trades to strengthen your team. Drafting with a specific punting strategy in mind is stupid - what if those players turn out to be ****? Whole season down the drain, just like that.
Denying that consistency > punting is also dumb. What's the point of punting if your players aren't consistent enough to win those 3-4 cats a week? Talk about playing with fire, and a likely 6th place or worst finish (RO).
I'd rather lose 4-5 instead of 3-6, or 2-7 in the event my punting team has a bad week. Just saying.
no you draft specifically with punt strategies in mind lol. you draft like that because specific players become more valuable to you, and you can ignore a lot of the other popular players that people like to reach for. the whole point of punting is to draft a better h2h team than someone who is drafting good all around players, because you can be more specific in the stats you are trying to strengthen when drafting. like if you're punting assists you don't draft draft cp3 in the first round and you avoid all the point guards that people like to go after in rounds 2-4, which allows you to target a point guard later in the draft like Clarkson or Hill who don't get crazy assist numbers. And thus by avoiding those guys you can target some elite big men or wing players while everyone else is drafting points guards.

That's the best case scenario for draft day punts though. It's easy to suck at categories, much harder to be good at them. If you find that you rank 4-5 in the league in one of your categories, it could mean certain death in the playoffs.

I'm on board on unprotected x number of players, but as the expansion teams drain players for GM A, it would be fair to limit consecutive drafts from GM A (3 as mentioned for example) and get from another before going back to GM A again if another player there is wanted.

It's really weird to me that you pay for fantasy advice and somehow still think you are supposed to draft with specific punt strategies in mind. Makes me wonder what kind of sites you go to, because any reputable fantasy website specifically states that you should do the opposite - draft and then trade/make fa pickups to tailor your squad to your strengths.

Easy 7-2 victories for both my teams in week 6. Moved Chandler to the IL and picked up Koufos.
