He even made an initial offer... luckily he's such an inept GM, and Hughes was peeved enough with the initial negotiations that he didn't give the Wizards a chance to match the Cavs offer as initially promised.

Well, I guess there's always the Butler deal then..

I'm so glad I sold my tickets. That was disgusting. I probably would have gotten into
a fight with some Kobe FanBoy. You can blame me if you want for possibly contributing
to the LA portion of the audience but you can't blame me for the team's inability to
shut them up.

I'm glad I sold my tickets too Jim. The only thing I regret is that I sold them right before Kobe announced his retirement. I could have made a lot more after he announced. Oh well, I would have been sickened to be there...not only because of the Lakers fans, but as you said it, because the Wizards failed to shut them up.

I did the same thing, sold right before the announcement was made.

I still did okay but could have done better.

Now I'm not sure I want to bother going to PHO or DAL.

Little late but...I was at the game and I'm a little embarassed to be a D.C. sports fan. I mean I understand people were going to cheer for Kobe, hell even I cheered for him at times early in the game, but to outright chant Lets go Lakers and boo John Wall when he's shooting FTs? Just ridiculous. I know D.C. is a bandwagon town but come the F on. So dumb.

To be fair, we ought to be blaming dobrojim and dandridge10. The problem wasn't that Wizards fans were cheering the Lakers. It's that Wizards fans sold their tickets to Lakers bandwagoners.

Well to be fair I went to the game with a friend of mine who's a die hard Laker fan, but we go to Wiz-Lakers games every year and he's not a bandwagoner.

I can understand there being some bandwagon fans, that's to be expected. But it felt like a Laker home game late. Just embarassing. It was almost as bad as Redskins-Steelers on MNF in 2008 where it was like 50% Steelers fans at least.

I was at game 6 of the Atlanta game last year and the Verizon Center was maybe 60% full. There is zero local interest in the Wizards, and I'm not entirely sure why, but my guess is it's because they've been consistently bad for a long time. Nats and Caps seem to have really respectable fan bases.

The football team used to have serious fans, but it's hard to root for a dumpster fire.

No the problem was the home didn't do anything to shut up the fans rooting for the out of town
2 win team.

Also
If Laker fans agree to pay way over our cost after a 30% annual increase in ticket price
and Wizard plan holders see an opportunity to offset that some, why should you complain?
We have no control over nor knowledge of what team the buyer of our tickets roots for.

It is simply NOT true that the Phone Booth was only 60% full for game 6 vs ATL last year.
Pure hyperbole.

lol ok buddy. There were tons of empty seats. Maybe it was 70% full? I can't imagine it was much more than that.

I just looked at some crowd shots at Pierce's final shot, from all over the arena, looking all over the arena, some showing 200 and 400 level. It looks like a pretty packed house, which matches my memory of other Wizards playoff games I attended.

Being a Wizards fan is so deflating it even deflates memories of fan playoff attendance.

I always blame management or ownership.

Seems to me if Ted Leonsis wanted to he'd give tickets to rabid Wizards fans and turn Verizon Center fans like Portland fans on the east coast.

Not sure about Phil Knight, ticket pricing, fan base, arena proxemics but I would think playoffs should always have a packed house.

Redskin fans and Capitals fans know who the Wizards are. I think the people at the top have things the way they want or else they'd make innovative changes.
Tre Johnson is the future of the Wizards.
