I think The Blairs in Silver Spring is great -- we had a place their between selling one house and buying another about a dozen years ago. Haven't looked at their rents in a while, and... I don't think they allow dogs :(

I'm told the Red Line -- the whole Metro -- has become pretty unreliable the last few years.

In DC, Northeast is being "gentrified" in a hurry; probably the only really "affordable" area left in the city.
