Dwight Powell hit a bank shot. 4/5 for 8, 1 blk, 2 rb, +22 damn lol.
"I definitely knew he traveled, but I didn't know they were going to call it. That was one of them situations in which a great player made a move...and they called the call. And I was like, 'Oh, man, there is a God.'

Cleveland is so bad right now. they really **** up with that KLove trade and TT contract bs thanks to LBJ.
when you bring in LBJ you sign with the devil, on a side note Porzingis is gonna be the mvp next season.

Ya, Porzingis is a pretty amazing player, potentially very generational as a prime sabonis
funny thing though is that raptors would had mess him up if they drafted him though like they did wiht JV

What do people think of Jerami Grant from Philly? Starting to put up some good numbers, especially blocks. Wouldn't mind talking to Philly, see if he's buyable.

They've got by far the best team in the east on paper. I'm pretty certain that a few November losses while they're missing some starters doesn't add up to F'n up. They're still going to run away with the conference.

I dont get how so many people believe in the raptors, they have zero to chance to win it all.

There is no doubt they are gonna be real solid when they are at full force and healthy, but I would rather have a really stacked young team rather than this product.

Lebron James is on the wrong side of 30. Since he's the most important player, there wasn't going to be a stacked young team here. And people are way too hard on Love. Wiggins wouldn't look nearly as promising scoring 13 ppg in a supporting role either. People criticized Bosh his first 2 seasons in Miami too because he wasn't scoring 22-24 ppg anymore either . As it is, Love is still one of the best players in the NBA at age 26. This is a guy who's numbers dwarfed what Wiggins is currently putting up on superior Minnesota teams

I think we were the two people that wanted him the most in the 2014 draft while others were calling him another Bargnani.

It's a wonder what some actual scouting and evaluating the prospect can do

Seriously, it's confusing how people were immediately comparing him to Bargnani without even knowing Porzingis as a player. I can't understand making such a judgement with almost no information.

I'll admit though as high as I was on him, I never dreamed he'd be this good this fast. I liked his defensive instincts, his passing, his shooting touch, his athleticism, his hustle and motor, but I never thought it'd translate this quickly. What he's doing right now, I thought he'd reach this point in his third or fourth year with more seasoning and development.
It's scary to think what he's going to end up like in the next couple of years.

Yeah I know right? I'm the same. I was confident that he was going to be good, but no way this quickly. An incredibly pleasant surprise.
His defense and rim protection assured to me that there was no way he was going to be Bargnani. Plus all the other stuff you said - the athleticism/mobility, his relentlessness, and his passing feel. It's all coming together so early. A testament to his intelligence and work ethic.
If he gets a bit (and I mean a bit, he has to stay wiry and mobile) stronger and keeps improving his post skill (not back to basket stuff. Faceup craftiness with the occasional hook), I can't see what he won't be able to accomplish.

Charlotte going to win against the Bulls. Lin and Batum have been great pickups. Them and Indiana are the surprises of the East for sure.
Bucks beating down the Knicks so far which is good for the Thank.

The Bargs comparisons make sense in that he's basically an aggressive Bargs with an IQ for the game. Which come to think of it, is basically a completely different player

Re: General NBA Discussion Thread
Add me to the “I didn’t think Porzingis will be this good this fast” club. I thought for sure Mudiay was the safer pick. Ceiling wise KP is on the same tear as KAT imo, and they are the standout rooks. I actually somewhat followed KP when he played in Europe, but just newer thought he can be so fluid. He’s definitely easy to root for as a player also, I kind of even like the Knicks now..

Yeah he's definitely impressed. I haven't seen enough of him or KAT to really judge.
Mudiah seems solid too.
Okafor...who knows.
It's just sad that the Knicks tank and seem to have gotten a really good player while the Raptors are treadmilling away.
