Why the Kings? That seems like a very random question.

Also - are we assuming that he replaces Mitch Richmond from '92 to '98?

At any rate, my answer would be - ZERO. If the Kings kept every player they had, and only added Kobe, they wouldn't have nearly enough talent to compete with the 80s Lakers, Celtics, Pistons, 90s Bulls, Jazz or Rockets.

They wouldn't even make one finals appearance, I think.

Yeah, Kobe doesn't get any rings if he's on the Kings from 84-98. Kobe wouldn't change their drafting issues or inability to acquire quality free agents and his Kings career would end right before Petrie really started to build something with Adelman, Vlade, Webber and Peja.

Mitch wouldn't play there because kobe wouldn't let him. Also they wouldn't have money for Mitch. it would just be kobe and not much else.

I do think MJ wins 6 titles if with the Kings.
I also think Shaq wins 2-3 even in that era with the Kings.
I think Duncan might even get one or so.

I think Hakeem gets 2 still as does Robinson.
I think Ewing might even get one.

From 1984 to 1998 the Kings were a 40-win team... exactly zero times. I'm not sure even the GOAT peaks would win a single title with those teams.
This place is a cesspool of mindless ineptitude, mental decrepitude, and intellectual lassitude. I refuse to be sucked any deeper into this whirlpool of groupthink sewage. My opinions have been expressed. I'm going to go take a shower.

Why did you ask this question if you knew Kobe would be surrounded with mediocre at best supporting casts?

And I doubt even Jordan wins a ring with incompetent front office that can't draft or attract free agents.

Looking at this it's clear this thread was supposed to have a clear anti-Kobe agenda

Do you know who was on those kinds squads?

You're basiclly crapping on PJ and MJ's supporting cast if you actually think MJ would win 6 rings with the Kings.

Let alone Shaq/Hakeem

I posing the question to say that only the best could win a title with a low ranked West team like those.

I'd bet money that
Shaq
Jordan
Hakeem
Duncan
Robinson
Magic
Bird
Moses
Dr.J
all win titles with that team

And players such as
Ewing
Kemp
Dirk
Garnett
Wilkins
Drexler
Isiah
Kareem
Wilt
Russell

All atleast make the Finals

Thorpe, K. Smith, Ainge, Richmond, Simmons, all pretty decent players.

Jordan could win a title or 3 with that team.

Why can't kobe?

Why can't kobe?

Kenny Smith wasn't very good until he went to HOU, Ainge was just a good role player, Kings wouldn't trade for Richmond if they already had Jordan and Simmons had a very short prime and career due to injuries. Then there's the issue of the Kings not having a competent GM until Petrie, and it took him a few years to acquire the pieces to rebuild the Kings.

What?
We saw the Bulls before 1990, so this sould be the end of the discussion.

I would so gladly accept your bet... AGAINST Robinson, Moses, Erving etc. winning a title with those Sacramento Kings...
PC Board All Time Fantasy Draft:

PG Mark Price (92-94)
SG Manu Ginobili (05-07)
SF Larry Bird (84-86)
PF Horace Grant (93-95)
C Dwight Howard (09-11)
+
Bernard King (82-84) Vlade Divac (95-97) Derek Harper (88-90) Dan Majerle (91-93) Josh Smith (10-12)

God, that's sad when you state it like that. 15 years, not once hitting 40 wins. :noway:
Only managed 35 wins four times in those 15 years. Only made the playoffs three times in those 15 years (going 1-9 cumulatively in those three playoff series'). Man, that's a sad run for a franchise.

And I agree, even the GOAT doesn't win a title with those supporting casts (Reggie Theus/Eddie Johnson/Larry Drew/LaSalle Thompson or Walt Williams/Spud Webb/Olden Polynice/Lionel Simmons.......come on). The idea that he'd still win 6 (or even 2) with those casts is.....sadly mis-guided thinking.

And HOFer Mitch Richmond. I can see this site has a lot of haters out there.

Robinson won 60 games with Vinny Del Negro as his second best player.

Pretty sure Robinson could've got the job done with the talent the Kings had.

Infact only Kobe miss the playoffs with that roster.

So your boy kobe gets NONE and you answered it like that. WE get it. You boy kobe is a loser. Don't even use the 5 rings he rode on Shaq and Phil then.

Most people here don't even like Kobe.. The question is just ridicolous. You're expecting players to carry very weak teams to multiple rings

You meant fifth best player... (Rodman, Elliott, Avery...)

Make up your mind.
I think most of us are assuming Kobe replaces the starting SG on these squads (redundancy and all).

How would kobe want him there. kobe didn't even want Shaq and Howard there. Nor Gasol

With Jordan and Richmond, they could switch off playing the 3.
