Week 13: Jets at Giants

Post#1 » by Barcs » Thu Dec 3, 2015 8:41 pm

Much like 4 years ago this game could define our season. Last time the Jets were 8-6, needing another win or 2 to make the last wild card spot. The Giants were 7-7 trying to make a big late season comeback and take the division. This time Jets are 6-5 while the giants are 5-6, both in the same spots. The Giants only hope is winning a bad division, and the Jets only hope is getting a wild card.

We need to not only win this game, but also we need to make a statement. The last game was a heart breaker and if not for the Jets completely blowing it with the 99 yard TD, and the end zone fumble, the Giants likely never make that fluke superbowl run. As a fan I feel partially responsible for that.

In all likelihood it'll be a close game, but the only thing that worries me is that we will have no Revis to cover Beckam. This means we aren't going to have the personnel to blitz often, we will need to mostly rely on the front line getting pressure. I'm not too worried about stopping the run, but am paranoid about succumbing to a big play. The Jets absolutely have to establish the run in this one and need to finish drives strong. No more drops!

Jets with the most 3 and outs in the NFL. Just gotta let the defense do its thing and hope we see Bad Eli today.

Underwhelming finish to the drive there. Jets dominated the field all the way with big plays and then just got stuffed at the goal line. Ah well.

So of course, when the D is getting it done, special teams doesn't even let them on the field. Go figure. Sigh, only with this team, I swear.

Guess Jets are gonna implode before the Giants do.

Because of course the only way this team is gonna lose is by shooting itself in the foot repeatedly.

CC: Chan Gailey

Kellen Davis is a **** scrub and should not be a red zone target.

A Jets QB threw 50 times in a win. Let that sink in.

I guess I was wrong about establishing the run. The Jets passing game looked miles better than the run game and if anything that opened up the run. Gotta love the Powell screen plays. They got outscored 20-10 in the first half, then come back and shut out the giants completely in the 2nd half. That was pretty impressive. That 13 minute Giants drive that ended up going nowhere played big into that. Hell, if not for the multiple special teams disasters this game isn't so close.
